Has the following happened to anyone else? Sorry for the long post in advance...
First the specs:
Playing on PS3, Top Player level, position AMF, skill card Classic number 10 at the start fo the game.
I started my career at Heracles, did OK in the first season and won the league assist leader trophy as well as got selected in the league best eleven.
I transferred to NAC at the start of the second season and as their formation was better suited for my player, I started to put in some quite good performances - ratings usually were between 6,5 and 7,5 and I got assists in practically every match as well as scoring a couple of goals also.
After about 25 league games into the season (at which point my average rating was about 6,9 and had 25 assists in the league + some odd goals, and my team were leadiing the dutch league) my player suddenly became clearly worse than what he had been up until that point.
My team also was visibly worse than what it was before - strikers almost completely stopped making runs behind the opposition defence, players lost the ball in easy situations and they became much slower in doing everything they did. Much worse was the fact that my player suddenly responded to everything much, much slower.
He had lost a couple of yards of pace, acceleration had deteriorated, one-touch passing became almost impossible, turned with and without the ball like a 50-year old, reacted much slower after playing a pass, getting up after being tackled took ages, dribble speed was much more slower, got knocked and robbed off possession much more easily - was basically much worse and much SLOWER than what he used to be in everything that he was supposed to do.
Still, my team was able to win the dutch league and my player ended the season with a respectable 10 goals + 30 assists in 37 games, with an average rating of 6,7 (won also the best player, assist leader and best eleven awards).
The same continued for my player in the Euro championships. Still my country managed to win the tournament (and my player got selected as the best player of the tournament as well as being the assist leader).
I transferred to Getafe for the third season and all seemed to be well again. My team demolished Real Madrid 5-0 in the first league match (my player got 1+2) and after 8 league games we were on top of the league and my player had already collected 4 goals and 8 assists in those 8 matches. After that, the same thing happened again. Eventually my team still ended up winning the league and my player again collected all possible trophies, but throughout the rest of the season after those first 8 matches my player (and the team) was much worse than what he was before. This is backed up by my players stats before and after:
First 8 games: 4 goals, 8 assists, average rating 7,1
Last 30 games: 2 goals, 12 assists, average rating ended up at 6,6
It feels as though my team are getting better results than what the computer expects and my player is playing better than what he should be with his attributes, and because of this some kind of scripting kicks on.
I've also noted that my player's development has all but stopped, and his fan base has diminished with every passing month since the start of the game (his fan base is actually smaller now than what is was when he was a 17-year old rookie, all this after being selected as the best player in the Euro cup, the dutch league, and the spanish league!)
It is obvious that the computer is scripting it, but what I'd like to know is if there is some kind of way to stop this? For example deliberately playing very poorly for a couple of games, getting dropped from the starting XI, skipping a match or two?
