If a player gets an offer from a team and it says your player wants to go on loan should you let them? Like does it impact the player's relationship with you if you don't let them?

Would be nice if someone could answer this. I've been playing as Barcelona and I wanted to keep Xavi for one or two seasons then cash in on him. I ended up selling him half way through my first season for (39 million) because his bio said he was definitely interested in a move. They offered him a better salary which is why I think he wanted to leave. Anyway, it was just the fear of him possibly handing in a transfer request then leaving for nothing that made me sell him.
