I'v pre-ordered the PS3 from my work, £540 for the 60Gb, with 3 games. Though i'm thinking about cancelling that as i've heard the games are too expensive, the 360 is better than the PS3 in terms of graphics and speed. Also the fact alot of PS2 games won't work on the PS3.

Hmmmm:erm:

I think they've fixed that 'PS2 games won't work on PS3' bug mate, update v1.51 (which is pre-installed on the European consoles) have that fixed.

Or so I am led to believe! :erm:

Anything else you'd like to know about the PS3, you may ask me. :)

Hmm i looked that up the other day and it said the European consoles wont have that atall. It's a certain chip or something that is installed in the Japanese versions of the console, but wont be in the European. I'll have another look at it later after school. Better get going now, got English first.:crymore:

That is true.

There is indeed a chip missing in the motherboard on the PAL PS3 consoles that allows one to play a host of PS2 games on a PS3. Sony's answer to this is to use a software-based chip - an emulator to play the PS2 games that won't work through the hardware.

The emulator would need to be installed on the Hard Drive, of course.

Most games will be £40, and the only reason graphics and speed are better on 360 is because the PS3 has only been around 3 or 4 months. Most of the games that have been compared have almost the same graphics, which suggests PS3 have more ability to advance. Within a few more months it will surpass the 360 in all those areas. Also, take a look at 'home' :ninja:

Is that for certain? because although I own a 360 which is doing just fine for me I'm not one of these fanboys like yourself Mr Edkins whom because it's a PS3 automatically assume it is going to be a work of genius and I just take whatever comes to me, as I certainly never foresaw myself buying a 360.

Either way I'm not bothered what is better or what is not, it's just whatever console you enjoy at the end of the day, look at the Wii obviously not a patch on both consoles but it has quite a rather USP and people prefer that.

Lies, damn dirty lies.

The 360 was released in America at the end of November 2005, the PS3 was scheduled to be released in March 06. Just three months after 360, but it was pushed back due to production problems. The PS3 may have only been available to the public for around 3 months, but in truth it's been available to developers for roughly the same time as the 360. Besides, when the PS3 was pushed back most launch games got an extra few months tacked onto their development, so there's no excuse for games scheduled as a launch title like Resistance not to look as good as Gears of War. And it remains to be seen if many games will ever reach the PS3's full processing power considering how expensive it would be to create a game with such values so it probably wouldn't be cost efficient at £40.

The 60 Gb PS3 supports Wi-Fi.

You'll probably be able to play WE:pES 2007 on a PS3 but I'm not sure how the online thing works. The online stuff may still have region restrictions.

The PS3 will suck.

I think I'll stick to my Game Gear. Home Alone, now that's a proper game!
