Can't stress enough, lads, get a US account! Their shop is a lot better then the European one. It's easy to set up. Just put in a random address from America which I'm sure you can find off the net.

Stranglehold is cool but can get repetitive, Tiger Woods '08 is brilliant. You can play 3 holes. NBA '08 is also available which I'm just about to go play.

This link should help you if you're having trouble

Is there anything I should know about with the set-up of the console etc? e.g. don't lie it on the fan.

Also, are the only benefits of having a US account earlier trailers/demos? I'm not sure of risking it in case of any side effects

Seems like more hassle than it's worth to me. I imagine most demos will be released a couple of hours/days after the American uns are anyroad.

I have a Spanish(European) American and Hong Kong(Asian) account. A lot of people do the same so don't worry about any side effects. Obviously you'll want to start off with a UK account then once you get bored of the store get yourself the other accounts. Piece of cake to set them up.

XMB Music in game possible!

Quote:
MaxConsole Forum member We! has confirmed that it is possible for the PS3 to play songs from the hard drive while a game is in play. This Spanish gamer was playing 'Everyday Together' on the PS3 (a Japanese downloadable PSN title) and he was trying to guess what each option did and stumbled across an option that asked him which tracked he wanted to play. Moreover the options were actually from there on in Spanish (his firmware language) which indicates that the player is integrated into the firmware and not options of the game as it is Japanese. Further to this, the player is quite advanced and it is clear Sony has been working on it as it has a number of options such as random playback, repeat a folder and related options. But that is not all, this game allows you to send IN GAME messages to your friends so you don't have to quit the game. It is also believed that this title is actually the first to take advantage of Remote Play with LAIR actually being the second. See more pics of the player and corresponding materials here. Spread the word about the discovery which will hopefully be utilized by future PS3 titles and DIGG THIS!!!.

Is it me or does that background simply change between the Swedish and Finnish flags?

Yeah but it's the first animated (baring the default Sony one) wallpaper I've seen. Hopefully there are more to come.

Big shocker at today's Electronic Arts pre Tokyo Game Show press event. While playing a demo of Burnout Paradise, we felt something that we never thought we'd feel from a PS3 controller -- shake!

That's right, Burnout Paradise is the first rumble-equipped PS3 game we've ever played. Which made us think at the time, if the game is making the controller shake, the controller must be a new version of the Sixaxis!

In fact, the controller we were using to play the demo looked exactly like a standard Sixaxis, except that it had a sticker on the bottom that said "RUMBLE." It also felt notably heavier than the standard Sixaxis.

We presume this is a prototype of the PlayStation 3's new rumble controller, whatever it's going to be called.

The rumble itself felt around the level of PlayStation 2 rumble. We're not sure just yet if Sony is using any of that next generation technology Immersion has been talking about for the past few months.

A formal announcement is expected tomorrow at Kaz Hirai's keynote address.

I'm not that bothered about rumble if I'm honest, a lot of the time on PS2 it just annoyed me. I bought an extra sixaxis today (making 2 in total), so I may get an extra one with rumble, but certainly not for months yet. Perhaps Birthday in Feb.

I'm with your Haribo, rumble was never a big deal for me and I really like the fact that the PS3 pads are so light now.

Surely with rumble they'll need to be charged more often.

Never saw the attraction in the rumble devices. Had one for the N64, added absolutely nothing.

Sony delays Home until early 2008.

Sony announced today during its Tokyo Game Show Keynote that Home won't be launching this year like previously planned. Home is now planned to be released early next Spring. Sony didn't elaborate on whether or not the Spring release will be for all regions or if it only concerns Japan. Sony originally planned to release a Home beta later this fall but didn't go into details on whether or not the open beta will be delayed as well.

Sake.

I'm not too bothered really but they should of said it in the first place, they surely must of known it wouldn't be possible to get it up this year.

Always building us up then knocking us down.
