Hi to all!
I haven't gotten the game yet but I would really like some feedback from those of you that have already spent over a month or two with it.

For starters and for what I care the most:
01- Are option files easier to implement this year on PS4? Or do they need a lot of editing, names changes and etc like last year's? Is it still copy / paste for every image of every team, badge, logo, manager and etc?

02- ML: Your impressions? I hear the transfer market is ridiculous and earnings made from winning National Leagues and Cups, as well as the Champions League, are not profitable?
Teams putting a price tag on their players at 150 million?

03- Duplicate Players: do they get regenerated in your ML or Konami has FINALLY removed them? I wouldn't want to get a 16 year old Lampard in my Youth ML squad if by default he retired the year before. It's just really annoying. Can someone confirm this has been fixed?

04- Online Experince: Worse, same or better than PES 2016?

05- Transfer Market (ML): Is it updated with REAL LATEST transfers?
While playing ML can you trade players in your squad + money to get a players in your shortlist from another team?
If you sell a player for let's say 10 Million... would you get this same amount allocated to your transfer budget?

06- Is the gameplay better than PES 2016?
Have the goalkeepers been fixed since last year?

If you think of anything else that should be mentioned, please, feel free to let me know! Appreciated!!!

1. Easier than last year for sure. And, will only get easier and easier as more complete option files are released, there are quite a few available now, that cover every single fake team, to a licensed one.

2. ML is fun. Had my own issues, but that's a different topic. Different for everyone, but changes for the better. I feel there is actually too much money, too easy. I made a whole post about complaining about certain stuff like, Messi for 56mil, Neymar and Suarez around 40 mil each....crazy shit though, if you're smart or lucky players like Verratti or James Rodriguez for like 20mil USD or less....young players like Rashford, Pulisic, Renato Sanches, John Stones, Leroy Sane for like 10 mil or under....

But I've also heard stories of people paying 150mil or something for Veratti. RNG Chance, as well as "Transfer Chance Rating" thing, makes a difference too, as well as that players affection for the club. Sometimes they don't want to sell, which I like, but a majority of the time, it's too easy to get what you want...(I'll link you to my other post on this stuff.)

3. Many different reasons for duplicate players, at default Konami has a few. But depending on what OF you use, or mix, plenty of reasons such as different base teams throwing players into free agent pool. Different OF's using different base players to create the same guy, overwriting one OF with the other, base copies of real players onto fake players while the real player remains, and bunch more reasons for duplicates. Thankfully as people work on their OF's and release them, it fixes some of this. I myself made some packs to eliminate and streamline much of these problems.

4. Online is improved from last year, but it still suffers from the same types of issues. It's not as bad, but still not great.

5. They have online updates quite often, but most of this will be overwritten if you import an OF, which many of them are up to date, and I'm sure will be updated during the transfer windows. Yes you can trade players, and the money I believe fully credits your transfer budget, which is also separate from your wages budget. Which is cool, but I don't like the fact, that you can't move the money. You can have 1.5 billion in your transfer budget, and only 3k in your wage budget, and you won't be able to sign anyone, because you can't move the money...kind of senseless...but a small flaw in a good game overall.

6. Gameplay is superb compared to last year....goalkeepers are excellent to be honest, in a good way, where they did not overcompensate from last year. Like Fifa did in 16, where the goalkeepers were god like. Overall the gameplay I belive is mangificent and will only get better, I've noted some problems personally which I'll link you to the thread, but others have different experiences....as far as physics, collision, strategies it's unmatched.

There's a translated J League too, that you might like by Doremagesu translated by Erzo, but I can't find the link to it.

Hope this was helpful, best of luck to you. I would definitely recommend the game. Out of the box, the licensing might not be as good as FIFA, but maybe after some frustration, which should be lessened nowadays. The ceiling for enjoyment is so far higher, with such superior gameplay. Cheers!

Thanks Valencia5 for such a great and extended answer!
I will read your threads ASAP.

The budget allocation between transfers and wages should change every year in ML... isn't that correct?

As far as duplicate players are concerned: I would really like to eliminate those. From what I was seeing on the DFL Option file thread... Cristiano has / will remove those? Just reading through a lot of threads on this site and the DFL OF has over 100 pages so I will need to do some catch up.

I knew Konami's updates always have overwritten OFs but good to know the creators keep updating them.

I pretty much agree with what valencia5 has said in the last post. So below is just a few additional points :-

1) When the first OFs came out this year, there was an issue importing big multi-league OFs at once. Consequently, we were advised to import them a division at a time. But yeah, you can now do the whole thing in somewhere between 30 mins to an hour. The longest bit is watching the PS4 chug through the import, so you can go do something else for those 5 minutes periods.

2) & 5) ML is better than last year in several little ways. The wage budget being separate does mean that you can have the oddity of lots of money in the transfer budget but still be constrained by the wage budget, but this helps stop the abuse of the transfer market by players just picking up free players and selling them for hard cash and then using the profit to drag a superstar into the lower leagues. In reality, it stops you from bothering to abuse the system which is good. However, the club does reward you for saving cash by increasing your budgets. Or at least it says it does. Whether they would have given me the modest boosts to the two budgets in May/June had I spent everything they'd previously given me, I have no idea. Apparently, I helped increased profits by 92% over the previous year in my first season.

They have also ramped up the detrimental effect of low Team Spirit. In PES 2016, I just bought however many players I liked, regardless of their preferred playing style compatibility, suffered a dip in performance at the start of the first few seasons as players bedded in and was back to a Team Spirit in the 90s after about 6 matches. Not so this year. Such changes drop your Team Spirit into the 30s and it took the full season to get it back to 92. It also made the team really play like a bunch of strangers with lead boots on. So a more considered approach is needed. I (and some others) also loved the challenge. If you think the effect is too strong, you can do as others do and drop the difficulty level a notch or two for the first few matches.

3) Welcome to console gaming. :(
I think it is a mindset of console developers. It began decades ago when consoles were built for graphics and processing speed, but had other processing limitations. Back then they had legitimate reasons for not being able to generate files of random data. Not so anymore, but they still don't do it as much as they should. The end result in PES is the reuse of retired players. I'd put up with it more if the reborn players had their skills wiped, but no, a reborn 17 year old player can still join you with 8 or so learned skills including Captaincy.

4) I didn't have the problems others had last year. Dunno if it is being in the UK or having a good internet connection. I haven't played online this year, as I'm not that fussed.

6) PES 2017 has fixed a lot of the issues in PES 2016. Goal keepers are now excellent and CBs stop you getting easy shots from the edge of the box. Gameplay in other areas is improved as well, though there are always some areas that can frustrate. It's a mile ahead of the opposition though. You have to learn to work a way around defenders now. You can no longer just sprint past them, as they'll drag you back.
