I was playing the evil fifa and although hands down pro evo plays more realistic i was amazed at the detail given to pitches in fifa.

what annoys me with pro is old trafford for example, the pitch looks nothing like in real life. the biggest issue is the way the grass is mown and it's all wonky etc, chelsea's home ground is dirty and anfield is not crisp enough.

there broadcast camera angle in fifa 05 is perfect is looks like you are watching a match on the tele with it. broadcast view in pro is too close in or too diagonal and the wide camera angle is just straight with no angle.

yes everyone wants you to be able to play in snow conditions during the season mode, and that there is a proper calender so you can differentiate between the seasons, add to that more official sponsors etc, but am i the only one that feels if pro can get the pitches looking accurate, and no dodgy grasss cuttings, real crowd chants and to actually view the crowd it would be a step foward...oh and note that not all player vests are black and that you should be able to change the kit colour so that a logo you create isnt just the same colour e.g. liverpool home kit the carlsberg is in white and on a red home kit its fine, but not on a yellow kit- where it should be black!

don't forget people buy fifa as it looks more realistic as a visual. if pro can replicate that, fifa can never match pro's playing realism. worth pondering over i think.

i'm lucky enough to have a modded ps2 and great patches to play you get all realistic crowd chants something which fifa will never have and modded stadiums with new and improved pitches for some.

All the kit's in a patched pro evo take the piss out of fifas license with teams that are sponsered by nike haveing nike on their tops.

But like I said i'm lucky you can do a decent job in edit mode but it's never perfect if there was no patches or editing I would still play pro evo because it's the game play and the realism I like but maybe we might get lucky this year with pro evo 6.

The only thing that bother me is the amount of space you get on the pitch it's so cramprd IRL there is a alot ore space

I agree that crisper presentation would help the game and would probably get it even more fans, but it is the gameplay that matters to me most.

As for saying about the editing, you can make kits show the text and logos in different colours. I can't remember exactly how you do it (I don't have all the editing screens committed to memory!) but I assure you that it can be done - just take a harder look around the kit editing screens.

The Old Trafford pitch in PES3 was really great and I don't know why they had to go and screw it up.

no i know how to edit kits etc but the problem is you cannot change the colour of the logo on home and away kit e.g. in there is a clash in colours where the logo is white and is fine on a red home kit but you can't see it on a white away kit, ie. you can't specifically tweak home and away kits.

btw play the awysu stadium in winter and at night, it's the best pitch by far.

ive now found out how to change the colour of logos

pitches are big in general but highbury was quite small. the other thing is the camera angle. wide it too high and it takes a few games to get used to the normal long one. i was thinking of how tough it would be to have cameras as you see matches on tele eg the highbury one was angled, nou camp is high up etc

There are some nice pitches in PES5, but i must admit it is a very rare.
My favourites are the Dortmund pitch an the Yokohama International Stadium one.

i used to like dortmunds as it looked like astroturf but than it doesnt look like a real pitch. some of the grass cuttings are bizarre though. i think they should let you have an option of changing the style of that in editing team tbh.

yeh but is that cos its FIFA road to world cup...everyone knows fifa replicate stadia and the grass accurately. somehow they even get the camera angles perfect for different grounds just like on tv. pro has settled for gameplay accuracy but i dunno maybe they have to decide which is more important-boosting such visuals or paying for more licenses etc

Obviously we are all big PES and WE fans here, but only the foolish amongst us would totally dismiss what EA is doing. Talking only about the game play, for me WE10 is still in the lead, but the gap between the games has bee reduced somewhat, however fifa is still way ahead with the management etc. and as it has been said so many times, a combination of the games would be perfect. but alas it wont happen, i just hope the next gen battle is far more fierce and we get to reep the benifits.

for me, thusfar, the evolution of PES as been more than frustrating I would have liked to of seen a complete revamp of the surrounding game and from there move efforts on to more realistic movement and physics, that said, still love it and will keep buying it a twice a year.
