Yes, it was a typo.

You're joking right? No wonder the Royal Mail is a fucking joke of a business. I can't see how anyone in their right mind can complain about being made to work their allocated hours?!

Not only are postie's overpaid for doing a simpleton's job - after all 14 year old boys with paper rounds do a fairly similar job for fuck all money - they've got the cheek to moan about being made to work the full amount of hours.

Bring back the Iron lady.

Haha. Can't help it, I'm a conservative at heart.

Perhaps its to do with being a southerner.

Oh, and thanks for the tip on choosing economics. I had the lecturer explain for full on 30 minutes what a risk was!

I think it was said that they're on about 17k a week and nearer £9 an hour - I believe.

I've heard various things, but basically one of the key aspects was that usually even if a postie has a five hour shift, if they're done after 3, they go home. Now the Royal Mail want them to do the full shift they're throwing their toys out the pram.

Maybe Alf could tell us more, then again half of them don't even know what's going on!

I'll do my best but Royal Mail aren't to keen to let everyone know what's happening. Basically I'm not entirely sure why we're striking, but I use the word we generally, I don't strike cos I can't afford to. If a postie finishes early then generally they can go home but things change and rounds have become longer and early finishes are not as common as you think. As for the £9 an hour, fuck I wish I was on that. The majority of posties are part time, meaning you work overtime and then get fucked when you take your holidays. Most of the people striking are full timers who had it easier when they started, I just like to do my job and go home. Someone commented about using other companies but you'll find that DHL and TNT use Royal Mail to deliver most of their business, don't figure does it. Another issue is that TNT are threatening to use their own postal delivery workers which would threaten us Royal Mail posties too. Strange then that we still delivery their mail now! Hope this helps a bit.

Oh, and I've just read some of the replies in this thread.

Currently got tears streaming down my face. Got to love Liverpool bashing.

What were you saying nobhead? Don't make me come to you and put you in a early grave.

The postal strike for once shan't be a problem for me as like the past 2 years am going to be at the Asda near mine at 12pm on the night to pick up my copy. Added discount from a friend who work's there has made me carry on my tradition. Smart price. :D

Why don't you just buy it from the shop anyway you fucking bellend!? I hope everyone who bought them off Play doesn't get their copy until a week after release.....lazy pricks.

Play.com are doing an online competition though.
That ends with a £50,000 1st prize.

Thats why I want mine from them.
Sorry if someone has already posted this, I havent checked every reply.

How long is this going on for? I ordered my xbox headset from play.com almost a week ago and it got dispateched on the 10th of October. If it's starting 15th of October christ I won't get it for a fucking year and a half. When I ordered my xbox off play, It came the next day.

And what the fuck has postal strikes got to do with PES/WE chat? It should be in off-topic or spam section.

greedy lazy bastards, this shit shouldn't be legal.

the official strikes have been called off, but the royal mail staff in Liverpool and Yorkshire are on an unofficial "wildcat" strike, which in my opinion shouldn't be legal and the cunts should all just be fucking sacked.

I've got money coming in the post and i'm fucking skint because these lazy bastards want to be able to fuck off from work early and still get paid for the hours they're sat at home.

As far as I know, the Royal Mail should be able to get in agency workers as the strikes are illegal.

I also believe that anyone taking part in these "wildcat" strikes are liable to lose their jobs.
