Graphically there's not much in it , but who honestly thought there would be !?! PES4 pushed the boundaries of the PS2 and there's just nowhere else for Konami to go on the PS2 in terms of graphics.

Gameplay wise it's on another planet to PES4 ..... apart from the fact that they are both football games it is a completely different animal. One that is proving extremely difficult to tame !! ;)

"whenever you recieve a pass the player always takes like a second or 2 to get the ball under control and at his feet, it's like the ball control is really loose"

Now forgive me here if I am wrong but are you actually moaning about that??? It's realistic my friend!!

I've read the replys and some of you are fair comment, but seriously, you cant tell me you were not let down when you put this on? Everything about it just says 'we couldnt be bothered to change things'. The stadiums, the lame kits, the awful crowd fx, the gameplay has gotten worse etc etc....
I would have just thought that after Pro evo 4 they would really step the game up a level like they have done in previous years. This isn't taking football games to another level at all. It's repeating the same old same old under a new name.
This is the first time ive been let down by a pro evo game!
WAs this game worth the wait? NO! its best if you just update pro evo 4 and save yourself some money

I don't have the game yet but if PES5 is much better than PES4, it will be no surprise to me. In the past, every PES game has outplayed it's predecessor, in the fashion that Chelsea outplayed Man Utd and Arsenal in the Premiership, after only being a team playing for Europe, with not much money. For example, when I played PES1, I thought it was a brilliant game and I would sit for hours mastering the master league. When I heard that PES2 had came out I rushed to the shops to buy it. Then PES2, became my favourite and I played PES1 only very rarely. So I am fully expecting PES5 to be better than PES4.

well for me, i'm mainly dissapointed on how average and the same as before this game is. Like i said before, the best thing is that the ball moves faster when you shoot. apart from that its nothing special.

Free Kick Evolution?

Is it me or is free kicks happening every 5 seconds?? - perhaps I'm just a little aggresive or do like to pressure players constantly. My shooting is appauling as well - and R2 seems to take the juicy power off?

i tried it on 50hz and it sucked then tried 60hz and loved it. any other seen a difference too? 60hz seemed much more realistic

There is indeed a major difference my friend.
60hz is the way to play as in every PES game. 50hz is just not as smooth. There is something weird in the way the players move and react.
60hz is defo slower and more realistic.

Hi, ive been playing pro evo and iss pro games for years, even when it was on the super nintendo called 'superstar soccer deluxe'.
Pro evo 4 was top, really really good, i got 5 just and found it an absolute let down! the main bad point about it for me was that whenever you recieve a pass the player always takes like a second or 2 to get the ball under control and at his feet, it's like the ball control is really loose. This was the first thing i noticed and how bad it was compared to pro evo 4.
As for everything else well its EXACTLY the same as pro evo 4, for me the only thing that has improved is the speed in which the ball travels, it seems now when you hit a shot you really hit a shot, but from where i'm sitting it seems liked they've done absolutely nothing to make this game improve.
I was dissapointed mainly how everything is the same, stadiums, commentry, boring kits (i know you can edit them but it can take a while), really lame crowd graphics etc.
My opinion is if you have pro evo 4, then just keep updating that e.g player transfers and kit looks, because pro evo 5 is nothing different at all, if not worse.
I'm taking my copy of pro evo 5 back to the shop to get the money back and i'm going to buy fifa06 instead, for the first time since fifa 97, i figure theres no harm in trying it, as this was a total let down, much love to pro evo 4 though! i will still play it no doubt!
I swear this the same guy, who said word 4 word about pes4 last year:laugh: its got 2 be, the text seems exactly the same as b4, i reaad it on pesfan website last year

Yeah, it seems that fans of certain other games are so insecure that they have to resort to this tactic to try and put people off. Whilst at other times it's just people who are slow to adapt to the new games and eventually see the light.

I cant decide whether I like this game or not.

I enjoyed the fast paced, billion goals a minute matches I could play against my friends. This is just far too slow, and if these players cant control a ball then they shouldnt be in the game. Realism my arse.

I thought that too. Play a couple games get used to knocking it about and your first touch and you start to get used to it a lot more. But I do see what you mean and I'll miss the "taking on players with pace" side of Pro Evo 4. :(

Yeah, I've played a fair few games and won most of them. But it's daft having world class players who cant beat a man anymore because they think it's funny to act like they're running on the moon then on a real pitch.:(

playing pes5 is a shock.. you feel a little weird.. that is always my feeling.. after seeing the same menus, the same things during 366 years.. from 15th october 2004 to 21 october 2006... and then your abruptly change;. you feel weird and are temted to go back to the old one... but after a while you get used to it.. for another year until the story repeats itself
