I hate the fact that no matter what you do, the ref is over the top biased to the coputer as your player always seem to give away a FK, then the comp does the same thing and the play continues. You get the worst teams on the game passing it about like their world beaters. Top players stats count for nothing as no matter what you do with them it doesnt work, you cant run pass players they always tackle you even when they dont even try to, passing is inaccurate. Sometime to much realism is too much. You cant make every player do what you want when something is that realistic. Even though ive won most of my matches, its a struggle when it shouldnt be when you Milan or England playing againts the crap team. So far i deffinately prefer PES4 and im pretty much getting bored of PES5 already. Even though i struggled the same with PES4 at the start i soon mastered it but it doesnt feel like that with PES5, i feel no matter how good you get, its still going to be an annoying game. Hopefully things will get better and be praising it but so far it feels like a waste of money and got me thinking i should of bought FM06 instead.

PES5 is so much better than PES4......i wonder hy people even bother..they complain that the game isn't fluid and relistic and once Konami tinkered with the very arcade-ish PES4 they're still not satisfied.
so far im lovin PES5/WE9, the only bitter dissappointment is that the animation engines for cup victory's are the same

Yeah, you go ahead and buy Fifa 2006, then have fun finding those magic spots in front of the penalty box (if you shoot from those spots, the ball will 100% end up in the back of the net, lol EA) I played the demo version of 2006 and I've already found some of those spots buddy.
After years of develope, Fifa is still a piece of sh*t, the goals always look the same, and I've never got excited when scoring a goal in FIFA because it looks too easy, too unatural. Scoring a goal in FIfa is like "oh, I score a goal, that's cool", and in WE is like "Oh my god, did you see what I just did, damn, i can't believe I did it, man, what a goal"
And finally ,what with those players' hair in Fifa 2006, they put too much gel on their heads

i switched to WE as soon as We7I for PS2 released, unless Eurogamer give Fifa an perfect 10/10, I'll never buy it.

it really is the best football game ever believe me and i play the game for real and i can tell u it just doesn't get anymore realistic than this so if u can't handle the pressure ,the dept the, and the speed just try FIFA . but if u love a challenge and are a true football fan u will only buy this game. even if i'm tired (and believe don't play when u are tired the a/i will whip u) i sometimes just watch the comp play and even that is cool

Only thing that's ticking me off is the fact that Thierry Henry can't run away from Jaidi. I mean, what the schfuck?

I didn't mean those two players specifically, i just meant that's the scenario.

haha saying that Pes is the same crap every year, when the gameplay is completely different with every release. Fifa is actually the same old crap every single year. Makes sense since the team that makes Fifa is Canadian, and since I live in Canada, I can tell you that Canada knows jack about footy. Sad but true

Pes5 is great btw, can't wait til WE9I comes out

Well ive been playing my pro evo 5 some more (couldnt bring myself to take it back and get a fifa, like i said i havnt played a fifa since fifa 97) i have been getting a bit more into it and used to it. it just bugs me that the game play is slower (e.g turning with the ball or side stepping)and the refs CONSTANTLY blow for free kicks. also whats happened to chipping the ball now? in pro evo 4 chipping the ball over the keeper was one of the best looking ways to score, now the chip is nearly impossible to pull off!
i have to admit i'm adapting to it, there's no other game for me, i just have to get used to it.
It's blatantly obvious they didnt bother putting much effort in or spending big on Pro evo 5 because they know this is the last time they'll ever make a pro evo for the playstation 2. i can see a whole new game coming out on the playstation3.

Yes, we all know that PES is better than fifa, but this years version i feel, has lost its passion that was felt in pes4. I think this is mainly due to Konami concentrating on making the game reaslistic. Its like they have spent 12 months on the gameplay and 12 minutes on the graphics which are just the same as last year. Also the other frustrating thing is the magical dissapearing crowd which is apparently due to improving the games speed which is slower than last years anyway!!!!

I also feel that you are not in total control of the players. It has a "Light" feeling to it when your moving the ball around.

Overall, i think you have to compare pes5 to gran turismo - Very realistic but the fun is taken out of it.

It is still by far the best footie sim out at the minute (notice i said SIM)

I can understand why the graphics are still the same. even though the size of the game on the disc doesnt look it, the game is already highly compressed on to disk, making it very little room for major enhancments. Just think we are playing the game on the ps2 now with the disk size 4.7gb, when it comes out on the ps3, the power of the ps3 will be so powerful and the "dual laser blu ray disks" will be able to hold 50gb of data. I think we will see absolute major enhancment on the ps3 and then they might aswell not make fifa anymore as it will have fuck all on pes even more than now.

teh gameplay in PES5 is much slower but smoother because of more animations and mow can't expect obafemi martins to outrun carlos even when dribbling anymore which is a good sign

I am mastering PES5 now, and starting to play football as it shoudl be played (easier to do so on Wide camera angle).
Let me say PES5 is not a little bit better than PES4, but way way way way BETTER! Once you have mastered the art of dribbling in PES5(which I admit is hard) it is so damn realistic. Just the whole movement of the game is getting closer and closer to the real thing. PES4 was easier to play but compared to PES5 very arcade like, and less like the real thing.
I think it is sad that people are putting down PES5 simply because it is harder to master than previous games. I suggest you give it a go, master it, and then come back and see how wrong you are.
