Upon closer inspection I've got two trophies for completing the game.
No Matter What-Easy
No Matter What-Normal.
When I completed the game only one shown up.

And it is n00b, not Noob.......n00b.

Played any of the multiplayer, n00b?

Not very far into the game but the friendly AI is really taking me out of the experience. Stealthily sneaking around cabinets while Ellie stands out in full view, even to the point of touching guards, who don't bat an eyelid and continue to act oblivious to our location. And don't get me started on them running past clickers I'm trying to avoid

"Ellie is completely invisible to enemy AI while Joel remains undetected. This was an intentional design choice made by Naughty Dog so that her own AI would never accidentally give away Joel's position."

You could argue that because she's infected the clickers etc. don't see her as a human being or something. Reminds me a bit of a zombie movie I've seen recently.

I completed the game earlier and despite having doubts early on, I really thoroughly enjoyed it. It's the most I've felt immersed in a game since Heavy Rain I'd say. Funnily enough that's the game that came to mind in the opening sequence but there was also a hint of Alan Wake in the forest areas.

The ending:

I think Ali is being a bit harsh calling Joel a selfish cunt as the guy was a single parent who felt responsible for his daughters death. Since Ellie is the replacement in his life for his daughter, it must be incredibly difficult for him to just let her die. I was expecting him to hand her over then the ending would've been incredibly heart-breaking and hard to take

Yeah, perhaps you're right there. You could also argue that because of what's gone on throughout his journey, he felt that in the end, humanity was beyond redemption. Finding a cure all of the sudden wouldn't fix things, because it's all gone a bit fubar.

The bit that really made me well up was the scene were Ellie first brings up Joel's daughter. Joel was a real bastard towards Ellie in that scene.

I heard Nolan North near the start of the game :excited:

Anybody else absolute SUCK at remaining stealthy? There's only been one encounter that I can say went completely smooth. I can generally kill one with ease, but then fuck up on the second and run around like a nutter in a game of tig before I can find a new hiding spot.

I guess the infected part would make sense, but this was Tess doing it.

I understand how much harder it'd be for them to map out a whole new AI system but I'm still a bit disappointed.

No you didn't. That's not to say he's not in the game at some point. ;)

I'm a bit crap at it, yeah. Trouble is I want to complete the game on Survivor.... and there's NO listening mode! :shocking:

It is good though that you can hide again, and that the enemies don't just forget you were there, but actively hunt for you.

This is still a current gen game, remember. I think the more advanced AI could be possible on next gen though.

Do you think there could be a sequel to this game considering how it ended? I wouldn't want them to rush out a sequel but it's definitely a possibility. I imagine it would involve the fireflies coming after Ellie and at some point she finds out that Joel was lying. It could look spectacular on the PS4 in about 4-5 years time.

I swear I did. When you were running and carrying Sarah there was a guy with like two lines of dialogues that definitely sounded like North.

I'm hopeful that there will be a sequel at some point, even if it's just another story in the same universe. Perhaps even further in the future, playing as a grown up Ellie? They are doing some single player DLC, not sure what it will be but I'm hoping that it will focus on Marlene and the Fireflies journey from when you left her, to when you met back up with her at the hospital.

What was your favourite stage of the game, BTW?

I swear I did. When you were running and carrying Sarah there was a guy with like two lines of dialogues that definitely sounded like North.

Well, it could be him, but it wouldn't be the role he's credited for. But given his videogame voice acting pedigree (particular with Naughty Dog), you'd think he'd be beyond playing "Guy running from infected #2" type roles by now. The role he does play (for those who've completed the game) is:

David ie the guy near the end of the game that captures Ellie. Quite a departure from his Drake role, eh?

If you respond to this post, Haribo, do NOT quote it (since it'll reveal everything in the spoiler tabs), unless you want to be spoiled of course.

He still does multiple games where he does a number of background voices, but yeah it'd be definitely more than just one extremely minor character.

is still my favourite thing of his

Think I've missed the contents of at least two safes. One I found the code for and the other I saw the safe but not the combination. Is there anything useful in these? A lot of bolts or something? :/

I only opened one safe, key was on a matchbox at the top of the house. Can'treally remember what was in it though:/. After a while you just stop paying attention what you are picking up.
The rooms that you open with a shiv is where the real loot is:excited:

I don't think there's a lot of safes. They're mainly full of supplies, can't recall if any of them have any collectibles in them, tbh.

Are you gonna go for the plat in this one?

Maybe. I'll definitely aim to do all the single player stuff. Depends how absurd the multiplayer trophies are.

Just finished it. This has got to be the most gripping game I've ever played. I love all the little things Ellie does throughout the game, from commenting on what's going on around her to whistling and more.

The whistling bit was great, even better was when she found the porn mag and she joked about the pages being sticky.
I always enjoyed seeing her wonderment at simple things we'd take for granted, like how she couldn't believe that there would be a van that drives around selling ice cream to people.

:laugh:Almost forgot about that bit. I loved the whole encounter before that part. It's the little things. When I saw something about her swearing more than any other character in the game despite being a 14 year old girl I noticed it every single time. Fantastic.

The online mode is good, but I can't see it being something that has any sort of decent longevity. I felt totally outpowered playing a couple of games last night, with some people well ahead of me in rank, and weapons etc. It was still fun though, once you ignore the twats with mics dissing everyone who isn't ranked as highly as them and assuming you're going to be shit and cost them the game.

I played a few games last night. Started as Firefly. In every single on of the games, the teams were unfairly balanced against my team, in terms of player ranking... I ended up losing every match. For example, the last match my team was 2 level 0s (inc myself) and 2 level 6s, the opposing team was all ranked about 10-20. How is that fair?

I find that, with teams that don't play as teams, ie run off separate directions, you have literally no chance at all. Really frustrating. When you have a team that sticks together you can get healed easily while another one or two protects and whatnot. I've had games where I've literally been on my own with about 4 bullets against 4 people. Not ideal. It's usually the higher ranked people who know how to play properly so, like you said, unbalanced teams is stupid.

That said, I've had some brilliant teams in some of the games I've played.

My problem is that I've hardly played any competitive multiplayer in the past year or so, so to say I'm rusty is a bit of an understatement!
