ps3 lag and sounds

Whenever i load up my ps3 to play the main menu is a little laggy for a few seconds. Is this normal?

Secondly, my console makes a noise when loading occasionally. Has anyone experienced the above 2 symptoms?

No, not really, but I have to admit I didnt pay much attention to menu sounds, but I think its nothing bad, I only experienced some sound issues during matches. Like between scene shifting, the sound would go totally silent, then back again to normal, creating this unpleasant cut/click/blip sound. But I guess its not a big anomaly, its just the way the game was made. Also I used to have some black screen at the beginning when the game was released. The screen would turn black for half a second and then back to normal. Seems to be fine lately. Oh, and im still afraid to play in Warsaw stadium, since last time I played there my ps3 crashed. Havent heard of any fixes, so I avoid playing there. Is it working for you?

Sorry about the late reply. Mine is working sometimes but not having the same problems as yours. My start button doesn't work instantly like the ps2. When i press start/pause there is a delay or it doesn't receive the signal...???
