Connect you PS3 to Internet, start the game, then after the first screen (the one with "push any button") the consolle will automatically search for the updates: if there's one, it'll ask you if you want to download it, you say yes and the download starts.

If you apply it, it will revert the team names back to their original names (LONDON FC, MAN BLUE, etc).

Knowing that, I think that Paul won't download it. Or if he'll download it, he'll surely fix everything: indeed he releases approximately one update per week, so I think there's no problem whatsoever.
The only thing that I'm not sure of is this:

If I decide not to download live updates, while for example Paul does, his option file will be compatible with my system data? Even if I'm going to download them all, I'd like to know that!

So I download live update, then install your update, finally press R3 and I have back all the edits? But where I have to press R3? In the main menu?

Ignore the R3 bit, download the live update, but say no when asked to apply to offline. I'm still trying to work out where the option is to turn it off for people who turned it on

I can't remember if I applied or not: probably I didn't because C. Ronaldo has overall 95, instead of the updated 96.
But if I applied, I hope I haven't made an error.

Paul, someone responded in the PS3 Live Update discussion thread that there is not as much problem as we think it is; however I am not sure because I still have not allowed live updates.

Can you please help I've never downloaded pes option file before, can you help step by step where the option file is what's it called in the uk, where does it go when I down load as I can't find it and do I have to pay for win rar? I'm struggling with this so as much help as possible would be great!! Thanks

If you have a PS3 and in the UK you need the BLES version (your region code). Go to first page of this thread and see Paul'sl link to download BLES

here are steps
1) Download BLES File
2)Unzip file and rename the collection of all his files as SAVEDATA
3) Place that SAVEDATA folder into another folder named PS3
4) Place PS3>SAVEDATA folders onto a usb drive
5) Place USB drive into your ps3 and go to Game Utility and scroll around your USB drive directory
5) Open USB drive folder and these will now appear as PES2015/ Copy all files. Be sure to let your PS3 recognize all files after you goto next step, give it a minute after you select COPY. You will see the file number count increasing until you are at 183/183 files.
6) Select ALL files to copy and execute that copy command by clicking OK

7) Boot up your PES and you will notice it loading the new edit data. PES takes over from here.
8) ENJOY

Yeah that's it the live data only applies offline in exhibition mode, if you don't see my edits when you go there you press R3 to turn them off & the editdata loads back up
