Of course, there are many more important things going on the world than what we're debating here.

And yes, all sides could have been nicer. But if glen voices his issue here like that after he got no response otherwise, it's understandable. And it's the side opposing glen that uses vocabulary like douchbaggery, idiots, and greed. What goes around, comes around. =)

Disclaimer: I'm not affiliated with PESworld in any way, but as a graphic designer I know that all this work isn't done in a few hours, and I greatly respect whoever takes his/her time to create files for the community. It is still their full right to disclose however they want their stuff to be posted or used, though. And hating against those who create stuff the others actually use to improve their game is just wrong and lacks any basic decency, if you ask me.

The thing is that people take their time to create these things for you. Not for someone to take their work and post it without asking. Such things only lead to negative stuff. Imagine that they who had their stuff stolen go on to say "well, then I won't be making any kits for next year, have fun doing your own then".

And if they all did that, then you would really have a fun time figuring out how to get those kits for your game next year, whether the club owns their logos or not.

And btw, all the "profit" talk is not true. You are free to spend money on PESworld, no one is forcing you to and you can still download their stuff for free.

Not going to take sides, but distribution of files without permission is a huge issue in the Japanese editing community...all of your uploads right now have been translated and re-uploaded to be suitable for Winning Eleven. I don't know what you guys think about that, but as I said in the J League Thread, there is a group that downloads the secondarily distributed data and sells it, gaining a profit for doing no work at all.
Which reminds me...many of the J League kits in the DFL are re-distributed without permission of the original uploader...since we do have another set of J League kits uploaded by self bias, I suggest putting those instead?

Holy cow, the lack of understanding for glen's issue here is seriously baffling.

Instead of understanding that a credit would be the least Cristiano could have put in his OF, or saying "hey glen, thanks for the great kits, by the way!", you call his issue "douchbaggery"?

A lot of your favorite teams would look a lot less splendid without all their work. Try creating a lifelike kit yourself perhaps next time, so you'll get an idea about the work it takes. Maybe also try thinking before posting next time.

To be honest, I think you can tell by most of posts I try to stay pretty reasonable.

Let me illustrate for you a lack of understanding:

I think we all support someone's desire to be credited for their work. I think we also are very thankful for the time people put in and share with others.

Glen may very well have reached out to Cristiano on twitter, he could of even gone to his mother's house for that matter. But what people ON THIS FORUM SAW FIRST, was an abrasive post. Right or wrong isn't the issue. When you talk about understanding, try to understand the situation from the perspective of a public forum. The thousands of people who view the post, ONLY SEE THAT AT FIRST. They are not Cristiano, they are not Glen. You can only expect them, to react on what they interpret based on information available to them at their time of observation.

I'll further explain since you're talking about being "baffled by our lack of understanding" Example: Two men could have had a long feud, if the guy is in the middle of hosting a big party, nobody really close to either of them, some guy pops out and starts bitching at the guy out of the blue. They very well could of been arguing for the last week, perhaps even minutes before over the phone or whatever....but the people around do not know that....they can only assume the other guy is out of line, based on the information they have at the time.

Furthermore: You take a musician, he makes a song, of course radio stations, and other commercial enterprises pay loyalties. a DJ, goes and plays this song for others and passes out his mix tape. I don't think he minds very much. Even further he may put out a track listing, but does he give each individual who worked on the song credit? Or Is Credit to the label/artist enough when people look to the label/artist they can see the full credits.

I felt Cristiano explained clearly he used R8cha's file, and R8cha clearly gave credit for the kits. That is a fact. I believe that was sufficient, but that's my opinion. And others are of course are entitled to theirs.

I totally support someone wanting their work credited. And I am thankful for the work put in to help others. Fairly indifferent for work done for personal monetary gain. I respect it though, as is I think the case for most people here.

If you want understanding, try to understand the situation as it probably unfolded, like in reality, not just your own mind. Much respect to you.

But I am damn sure the people claiming and charging for kits, and logos....FOR DAMN CERTAIN did not attain permission from like Real Madrid or MAN U, or more so FIFA, UEFA, and the different confederations, leagues, and clubs for the use of their kits and logos to try to gain monetary value. I've been hearing iffy things about PESU's service and attitude, I wouldn't pay for user contributed content unless they did a very good job of it then I'd donate for their time and effort. And the fact that they're trying to make money off something with rights that's owned by a large market (already mentioned) that could potentially lead to a lawsuit, kind of like recording Star Wars and distributing it with your own media and charging $4 for it, that'll get you in some trouble.

Look, editing takes time...lots of it. It takes restless, long all nighters to push out content. We get it. But again, NOBODY OWN THESE KITS, IMAGES, etc...

The teams and governing bodies of futbol do.

I understand credit is due to the people who make these kits / OF's. So instead of bitching over something so small that could easily be fixed (hey cristiano, I made these kits, please add me to the credits list...), why don't we put our energy into making this the best OF out there? If cristiano isn't replying on Twitter, message him on here...contact his other credits and ask them. Don't go around the thread acting immature.

Face it, if you work to make this the best OF out there, more people will use it and know your name. But this issue has gone on for more than a few days and nothing is being solved! All of this fighting is starting to make me look elsewhere.

Why is it up to the kit maker to ask for credit? Why doesnt the option filer maker take the time to say "Hey your kits are great, can i use them?" Everyones names are clearly on the kits so theres no excuse not to know where they come from. Of course you own your images if you've created them.

I just did not know that the kits used in R8chas File where PES Worlds, I credited everthing I used before, so I would have credited PES World too.

Every duplicate in my OF was obliterated, I'm so relieved. But I'm uploading fixes for other teams right now only, out of respect for Cristiano, R8cha, Dorumagesu, Erzo's OF's.
