There is a setting somewhere in the pause menu that allows you to remove the radar.

I can't remember where it is exactly so you might have to do a little experimenting to find out exactly where it is.

you can make the rader translucent by pressing start duringa game and going to screen setting then pressing left at the rader selection

I'm sure you can move it from the bottom to the top and i think you can make it translucent, but i dont think you can actually get rid of it!

I may be wrong.... but as the man at the top says... why would you, its invaluable, especially on the harder difficulties
