Billy Minof, do not kid yourself, Liverpool in Anfield is no easy match. I'm hoping for at least a 2-0 win at the Bernabeu because I do not foresee Ramos having open, free flowing attack in Anfield, but instead a more counter attack mindset.

Robben is fit for the match, so probably:
Casillas
Ramos - Pepe - Canna - Heinze
Robben - Lass - Gago - Marcelo
Raul - Higuain

Looks decent, but Marcelo still is not for sure. Could be Sneijder depending on how he does today against Betis.

Hala Madrid!

I am under no illusion just how hard it is to go to Anfield on CL night and come away with something but I am fairly confident that we can, if we win the first leg then Liverpool are going to come out all guns blazing which isnt exactly what we want because if they equalise then they will be the team with the momentum, as I said probally a draw at home and we win at Anfield.

That will probally be the team to play Liverpool, Marcelo is playing well tonight.

Unbelievable stuff.

6-1 before half time, and Barca are 0-0 at the moment and a man down.

Raul with a pair of sublime finishes, and Huntelaar with two as well.

Great goal by Ricardo Oliveira though.

I missed the start of the game and the channel I am streaming from doesnt have the score, I thought it was only 4-1, happy days.

Same here actually, when I switched to this after the United-Blackburn match it was already 3-0 after 30 minutes, thought I'd miss a great half hour but what came after that was even better.

We could well hit double figures for goals scored in this match ;)

Yeah great weekend fer us, slightly disappointed we couldn't add to the tally in the second half, but six goals and Barca's slip would do very well fer now.

Don't like how the commentator keeps saying today could be the turn of the title race though, it's not like Barcelona are in a crisis, they're still seven points clear and that's gonna take some slump for any team to overcome.

All falling into place nicely for Liverpool's visit here :D

I wouldn't bet anything on Real actually winning CL this season whatever you're tryna tell me.

Real Madrid To Put 16 Players Up For Sale

Raul is among a list of 16 players Florentino Perez will look to cash in on, should he take over in the summer...

Real Madrid are prepared to listen to offers for a whopping 16 players in the summer, including club captain Raul.

According to Sport, Florentino Perez and his team have already outlined their transfer plan for next season, in the likely event of his regaining power at Real Madrid. Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Lassana Diarra and Ruud Van Nistelrooy are the only indispensable players.

While Raul is not on that list, it does not mean that Real Madrid are intent on offloading him. They will, however, listen to any lucrative offers, with various Premiership clubs thought to be interested.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka remain Perez's main objectives. His main dream would be to land Lionel Messi, but at the moment it does not appear to be a realistic possibility.

Finally, it has been learnt that Jorge Valdano would resume a key role at the club, while Zinedine Zidane would take up his preferred role as a coach of one of the youth teams.

I would bet on it mate, I already have a nice few quid riding on the Liverpool game.........What price are Madrid to win the double. League and Champions League?

And that story I can see being pure bollox and something you would see only in Marca.

Just seen Raul's goals from yesterday. Still one of the finest finishers in the game.

Hopefully he can add to his CL record and score 1 or 2 Wednesday night.

Anyway, here is how the press reviewed our win over the weekend.

AS:
“Madrid assault La Liga”

“Fabulous display in the first half”

“Great football and six goals in the first 45 minutes”

Marca:
“Galloping towards the league title”

“Madrid destroy Betis with six first-half goals, cut into Barça's lead and enter into the home stretch of the season like a rocket. Juande has payed close attention to every detail in designing this team.”

El Mundo:
“The chase is on”

“Madrid earn their ninth straight win and reduce Barcelona's lead. The Whites use speed and mobility in their best football.”

El Pais:
“Madrid earn the right to believe”

“Juande's team trounces Betis with a superb first half and is only seven points off the lead.”

“[Lass] is an impeccable midfielder. He is never out of position and his physique allows him to roam every zone on the pitch.”

La Vanguardia:
“Blowout by Madrid”

“[Raul and Huntelaar] scored a brace each in the best match of the Juande era.”

Tonights Squad to play Liverpool.

Goalkeepers:
Casillas, Dudek
Defenders:
Pepe, Ramos, Cannavaro, Marcelo, Heinze, Metzelder, Torres
Midfielders:
Gago, Sneijder, Robben, Guti, Lass, Van der Vaart
Forwards:
Raul, Higuain, Saviola

Possible team:
Casillas
Ramos
Heinze
Pepe
Cannavaro
Lass
Gago
Marcelo
Robben
Higuian
Raul.

Marcelo is playing well ATM and I can see him starting on the left side of midfield/left wing, the only change from the weekend will probally be Robben for Huntelaar IMO although Sneijder could make it.

More or less a fully fit squad then. Liverpool has Gerrard back though. I believe both Sneijder and Robben will start since they were rested against Betis.

Marcelo impressive lately but there were a couple of times against Betis he went for the shot when other options looked better. Looks to have much more freedom than when he plays at fullback though, would be interesting to see if Robben plays on the right tonight.

Ideally a 1-0 win would be nice, albeit unlikely. Any larger margin than that would be amazing.

Btw Torres hasn't scored or won at the Bernabeu, and neither has Benitez with Valencia.

Poor game last night.

Liverpool got there tactics spot on and done a great job on us, as for our team........

Casillas - Made a great save in the first half, didnt have much to do after that and couldnt do anything for the goal.
Ramos - Defended well but wasted too many good chances in the opposition side of the pitch.
Heinze - WTF was he doing for the FK that led to the goal.
Pepe - Solid throughout.
Cannavaro - Defended well.
Gago - Passed the ball well and got stuck in.
Diarra - Played well also but will have to up his game for the second leg.
Marcelo - Started well but soon faded, had to be sacrificed but not for Guti.
Robben - Very predictible and frustrated the hell out of me.
Higuian - Did well with the little service he recieved and was a threat but also lost his man for the goal.
Raul - Held the ball up well but had no outlets.

Subs:
Guti for Marcelo - The less said about the Guti the better...I cant understand why he didnt bring on VdV or Sniejder, both though should feature at Anfield.

Now we have it all to do, I was rooting for a draw last night with Madrid winning at Anfield which is now a must, we have been playing better away from home all season and lets hope this is the case again.

Why Sneijder never got on I still don't know. Expected there'd be three or four men marking Robben each time he received the ball, but that was because there weren't any other real dangermen to mark. You're right about the predictability part, hope he plays left wing for the return leg.
