Bit surprised with Keylor Navas joining Madrid, as Bayern looked like they had a deal agreed, but more surprised with Diego Lopez leaving. Does this mean Casillas will be back as first choice?

I hope not, clangers in the Champions League final and World Cup, hope Navas pushes him into the starting spot and not merely just become insta-sidekick.

Always been aware of Varane's talent, and further potential, but didn't quite realise he had that much pace on the run! That run forward down the right wing was breathtaking.

He's the fastest CB in the world, no doubt. He's decent technique for a, let's say, advanced midfielder, which means he has way-more-than-average technical abilities for a defender. He's quite big, so physical confrontations ain't a problem for him. So it leaves the question: Why did he never do this before?

Simple. Because he knows he shouldn't. And that brings us to the final quality, and frnakly the most important for me: intelligence/experience. How he's capable of being so aware of his surrondings, of what he needs to do and hen he can risk it more, is truly amazing.

http://www.espnfc.co.uk/real-madrid...may-replace-carlo-ancelotti-at-madrid-reports

There's rumours that Ancelotti may be leaving R.Madrid then, and that Rafael Benitez may be the guy to take his role.

Suppose it could be a decent one, Benitez will have a nice budget to play with - especially if he gets rid of the not-so-popular-currently Gareth Bale - and it could be a short-term move whilst RM then wait for the right moment to give it Zizou? :excited:

He has always been a great cup manager and with unlimited transfer funds, wages, attractive clout of the club and the already present squad...I see it very hard for him not win any trophies next season, maybe not the league but definitely Copa Del Rey and Champions League....it could either turn into a disaster or a Huge success for the initial years at least, there will be no middle ground like an Carlo or Mourinho period.

Lasted almost half a year. Success!

Thoughts on the entire thing? For me it was a clear mistake to bring Benitez, Real is a graveyard for good professionals with all those egos and sideline decisions, but Benitez never stood a chance.

Zizou is a mistake as well, while I think he'll bring locker room peace, stability and something to fight for I'm not seeing him as a good tactical manager. Like someone once told me "most times those who perform better are the worst teachers, because it feels so natural to them they can't explain it".

In Portugal people think they'll attempt to get Low, I doubt he'll accept. No idea who could solved their problems and be stupid enough to enter that hell hole.

Zidane still hasn't proven himself enough yet for such a big job as Real Madrid. Zidane should've gone and managed in France or somewhere first.
