Retraining Positions

Does anyone know how many games you need to play a player out of position before he learns that new position? I have been playing Giorza as a CB when he's really a full back and I've played about 12 matches now and his rating as a CB is still much lower than as a full back.

I'm wondering when his rating will be the same for either position. Has anyone successfully retrained a player to a different position? I'm guessing they have to have some of the basic skills needed for that position for it to work also i.e. you couldn't retrain Yankov as a CB? :laugh:

I've trained Aubameyang(CF) and Sané(RMF) to both be Second Strikers.

In Aubameyang's case it took one full season of almost constant playing for him to learn the new role, but in Sané's case it was a lot quicker. He's been in and out the team, used in different positions (mostly as an SS) and it took him about 5 months.

I guess its down to development and the fact that Sané is still developing and younger so can learn things faster, while Aubameyang is already fully developed as a CF and therefor takes longer to learn a new role.
