I've got the classic Shearer in my newcastle team, he is costing me 38 mil a year. But at 105 rating, he's worth it.

I think that's a kind of mechanism to avoid building "super teams" for long time.
Other teams (COM controlled) don't seem to have the same problem though.

I agree.

38M a year for Shearer lol it's hard to let these players go :crymore:

I have a few youth players who have been with me for a while now and will be after chunky contracts soon enough, shall have to let them go eventually. Can afford to keep them on big contracts, just don't want to

The best way to look at it is:

If you have a good young player say 22 YO and he is asking for 7mil a year. Get him on a 5 year deal. If he is still developing and playing, his value rises to 10-12mil after 2 seasons but you are still only paying him 7 mil. This continues until his contract needs renewing. Think of all the money you have saved under-paying him over the last few years. Long contracts at strategic times can/will save you millions.

Timing can be crucial. If I have a player I have just bought or from the youth team, I only give him a long contract if he is developing or if he will be a first team regular, then as his rating and value rises - his wages don't for 5 seasons. If they aren't developing and will not play, I just give them 1 or 2 year contracts and when their value/stats start to rise, hit them with a 5 year special. If you time it right, you can have a player with 90+ rating on a few hundred thousand per season.

i've the same problems with almost all of my players they cost me around 15-20 million except for Tevez he's 37 now rating *96 didn't drop in rating since he went 30 I can only extend his contract for 1 year at the time right now i'm paying him 50 million of wage it's kinda absurd I must admit but i'm waiting for him to retire.

My total wage budget is 325 million although my total costs 365 million right now
my bank balance is 1.200.000.000 and rarely I only make a loss of 100 million but I made that one up because I:

Sold Azara rat 89 for 20 million to Lyon
Sold Ninis rat 88 for 45 million to PSV Eindhoven
Sold Pagis rat 86 for 33.5 million to Lille (own youth player)
Rent out Makélélé rat 93 for 18.5 million to Barcelona
Rent Out Harry Kewel rat 87 for 11 million to Everton

Tevez should retire in a season or 2 now so I can sit back and relax while taking him again from my youth when the time comes
