God this game is too funny. The running and pressing R3 combat moves are great, as is the jumping into cars or onto bikes actions. My favourite is when you jump, knock someone over and land on their back with enough force to "surf" a metre or so down the street on them.
Just went to the airport to steal a plane (as you do) and I was trying to figure out the controls, all of a sudden I see a group of about 15 gang members shooting at me, this is their turf.
They're positioned around a jumbo jet, but i manage to take off, and head as high as i can, i do a swift 180 and set my plane into a nosedive and as it reaches critical velocity I bail, parachute in hand. I drift slowly to the ground as I watch my plane smash into the jumbo set, explosions galore, and a pop up saying 15/15 gang members dead, activity complete. Brilliant.

You know why I love this game? It's because you have a gang notoriety bar and a police notoriety bar and you can increase them both at the same time.
Just had an amazing shootout started by gunning innocent civilians. The cops turned up and I started opening fire and then a random gang member got put down by the cops so back up from their gang showed up. Got both ratings up to four so I had swat teams, soldiers, armoured vehicles and normal cops from the police one one side, helicopters, gang members and roid rage fuelled giant thugs on the other, and me and some homies in the middle of it all.
Seeing a brute picking up a cop car and throwing it into a crowd of cops and my gang members was the last thing I saw before being caught in a huge explosion from one of the countless wrecked vehicles around me.

Was driving alongside one of my crew and crashed into an oncoming car, he went flying out through the windshield and killed a police office causing my wanted level to rise, I was quickly surrounded by low level cops and proceeded to gun them down, but soon I was overwhelmed by armoured vehicles. I called in back up in the form of 4 crew members then called in three of my captains including one giant guy who can throw cars.
We proceeded to lay waste to all comers and a low flying helicopter was subject to having a cop car thrown at it. The army and tanks then turned up and we staged a strategic retreat back into a territory I was fully in charge of, and there were around a further ten saints outside and about the property. The shoot out continued and a stray bullet took down a luchadore, which brought their gang into the fray. Countless explosions, destroyed vehicles, helicopters, gang members etc. lasted for around 30 minutes before I was forced to retreat to an overpass and I was catapulted off it by a tank shell into oncoming traffic below.
