In the next-gen versions of the game they removed the ability to "choose sides" in a league match. Basically it is silly as I can no longer do a 2 player league with my friend where we would play as whoever our teams were facing instead of simply playing the computer. It is boring to play friendly matches all the time but that is the only option unless we choose 20 human players and that means having to play each and every game in a league rather than just the games for 2 of the teams.
