This is my first topic...
I was glad that diving was put onto the PS3 version of PES 2008, because it made it more realistic.
However, should it be included? If you can get away with it on the game, it may encourage diving in real life. I'm all for realism, but I don't think they are going the right way about eradicating diving from the game overall (when I say game, I mean football in real life).

I think "Diving" should be available -but- in a different way. I think Konami should make an option for diving whenever a player of yours is being "roughly" man handled -that- is whenever the opponent is making harsh pushes or tackles.
This way, if you have a strong player such as Adriano, or any player with good strength and size -then- you have the option of proceeding with play, because strong players can play through even when harshly marked -or- you could decide to dive in order to shoot a free-kick.
And then again, you could take advantages of different players with different attributes. For example with Drogba, you could play through -or- you can decide to dive for whatever the reason. While on the other hand, with Alex Del Piero, whom is smaller and weaker than Drogba -you- would probably be forced into "diving" because Del Piero isn't big enough, nor strong enough to keep playing through the knocks.
I also think that if Diving is going to be a part of the game from now on, then Konami should; Firstly, introduce a New Stat to determine the Diving Ability of a player. And secondly, they should make Diving possible ONLY in Certain Situations, that is when there is ENOUGH physical contact to take a Dive. And lastly, in those SITUATIONS (where Diving is an OPTION) there should be a fixed button for diving.. maybe L2 or L1.
And of course, in order to accomplish such a thing.. the Defensive Play and the Defensive Controls of the game NEED more depth and substance.
