Should diving be incorporated?

I was glad that diving was put onto the PS3 version of PES 2008, because it made it more realistic.
However, should it be included? If you can get away with it on the game, it may encourage diving in real life. I'm all for realism, but I don't think they are going the right way about eradicating diving from the game overall (when I say game, I mean football in real life).

I think someone diving in a real game as a result of diving on pro evo is about as likely as someone going on a killing spree as a result of a violent video game, ie. Lets face it, it never happens and it's probably about 0.0000000000000001% of gun crime that relates to video games despite what the media says.

If you start diving because of pro evo then you're a fucking idiot.

it shouldnt of been on the game because it almost impossible for it to ever work

Just because it's hard to perfect the timing doesn't mean it shouldn't be in the game. If it was too easy the game would suffer more.

As for influencing a generation of footballers, highly unlikely. It's easier to see people benefit from cheating during any footballing weekend at virtually any level. Who needs to see it in a game?

It should be in the game. I love it when it works, especially when you get a penalty and get the defender sent off, all in one go.

fact is PES is a game where its all fun and games..but diving in the sunday league will just result in you getting the bollocks kicked out of even further, so that is enough stimulus to not dive.

sounds sinical but they shgould have spent more time on the gameplay rather than incorperating pathetic things such as diving, not becasue of the moral football issues but because i find it boring.

I really liked diving but it's really difficult to perform. Also diving in the game doesn't encourage diving in real life because diving already happens in real life.

Why is this even a discussion. i even read an article on IGN where they were afraid people might try it in real life. I mean how retarded are people. This shit happened in real life that's why they put it in the game. it wasn't the other way around. And diving isn't something you can do all the times. in pes2008 I never got a penalty out of it. So it isn't that easy to do

Certain players like Ronaldo should have a star ability for diving, so that when they do it there's more chance of refs buying it, since they are so good at it.

diving in pes sets a shit example for younger players of pes when they go on to play proper football. laugh if pes bring in the intentional foul move

Correctshun!

If you even contemplate the notion that diving in pro evo could encourage diving in real footie.....then you are a fucking idiot!

However, diving should be removed from pro evo.......it serves no purpose their.

Out of interest, does anyone who plays PES2008 know whether the n00bmeisters have worked out a way of exploiting diving yet? Since I have not played PES2008 since about November, I am unaware of how this latest hair brained gimmick has went.

I think "Diving" should be available -but- in a different way. I think Konami should make an option for diving whenever a player of yours is being "roughly" man handled -that- is whenever the opponent is making harsh pushes or tackles.

This way, if you have a strong player such as Adriano, or any player with good strength and size -then- you have the option of proceeding with play, because strong players can play through even when harshly marked -or- you could decide to dive in order to shoot a free-kick.

And then again, you could take advantages of different players with different attributes. For example with Drogba, you could play through -or- you can decide to dive for whatever the reason. While on the other hand, with Alex Del Piero, whom is smaller and weaker than Drogba -you- would probably be forced into "diving" because Del Piero isn't big enough, nor strong enough to keep playing through the knocks.

I also think that if Diving is going to be a part of the game from now on, then Konami should; Firstly, introduce a New Stat to determine the Diving Ability of a player. And secondly, they should make Diving possible ONLY in Certain Situations, that is when there is ENOUGH physical contact to take a Dive. And lastly, in those SITUATIONS (where Diving is an OPTION) there should be a fixed button for diving.. maybe L2 or L1.

And of course, in order to accomplish such a thing.. the Defensive Play and the Defensive Controls of the game NEED more depth and substance.

It's a waste of time. It shouldn't even be in the game at all. It's a footie game not beijing 2008.
