Slotting It Past The Keeper 1 On 1 (Henry Style)

Is non existent in PES6.

The amount of times I have been sent clear 1 on 1 with the keeper only for the striker to use the outside of his foot to try and score, fail miserably and hit it into inrushing keeper.

What the f**k is that all about?

The only way I can find the goal in that situation in PES6 is to either round the keeper or try and chip him.

The same also happens running into goal at an angle.

Raging! :realmad:

Seriously? I've side footed it past the keepers loads on 1 on 1 situations in training.

Yeah! :(

Surely someone else is having this problem?.

I can do it in training but during games its a nightmare!.

It's not any player in particular. It happens with Gudjohnsen, Henry, Ronaldinho, Saha, and Van Nistelrooy.

Really, REALLY frustrating!

My players sometimes try to flick it with the outside of their foot, sometimes try to lace it with power and sometimes go for the instep to make it look flamboyant. It mainly depends on the players position and stature I think, the way he is shaped up towards goal. Try holding R2 whilst shooting as the players go for a curling instep shot usually.

Post back with your results and what not.

I tend to use the R2 button whilst shooting if i'm 1-on-1 with the keeper, you get better placement out of your shot. The one thing that annoys me about it though is that the ball doesn't bend the right way, Konami have messed up with the ball physics on this part of the game.

I scored 5 slotted goals with Henry, in 2 games. He is incredibly realistic on this version of PES in my opinion.

It's nowhere near the same as how you would do it in PES5.

In PES5 you would adjust the player's body to place the ball, it's a little more difficult in PES6. Whereas in PES5 you would open up the body to curl the ball into the bottom corner, the ball tends to swerve outwards in PES6.

I now try and round the keeper or tap the ball past him.

ps. Has anyone noticed that when you do take the ball around the keeper, the keeper doesn't go down as easily as in PES5, and seems to stay on his feet longer before making a dive?

Not yet tried to round the keeper, although i did it online (360 version) against some lad and missed a complete open goal with Ronaldinho. He was right near the penalty spot and he twated it over the bar, pissed me off big time but both of us where pissing ourselves laughing.

Not really related, but does anyone know if the game still has that annoying feature where - having taken it round the keeper and having him dive at your feet - your player jumps and is seriously slowed down, often to the point where the defenders have caught up with you or the ball has run into an unfavourable position?

I'm yet to see it in this game but it was a nightmare in PES5. Made me wish my player would go down for a penalty.

I've had it aye, quite a lot of times. (Good to see you again by the way mate ;))

With shooting 1 on 1, I find that if you aren't running straight then running into the opposite corner to which you are running can be quite effective.

Good to see you too man :) .

That's annoying that is. Wish there was a dive button a la Fifa 99.

I think the trick with 1 on 1's is to know the situation you're in inside out and know the player whose shooting too.

Perfect example: Today Marlon Harewood was clean through in the game against Arsenal but he messed up his angles and hit it straight at the keeper. Now the game replicates this with all but the best of strikers, and even then I find it tries to make it tough for you. You need to know where the keeper is, whether he's badly positioned - opening up a corner for you, whether the distance is right to chip, whether you need to blast it or whether it's time to take it round him. It all comes down to experience in the end.

Having said that I always find that if you're running straight on it should be a controlled shot or chip, from an angle with your favoured foot on the inside it should be a shot across goal and with your favoured foot on the outside go for the near post.

I tried rounding the keeper rather than going the R2 shot. Was fouled by the keeper and got a penalty. He got a red card. Was quality.

Quality :D

The only thing better than getting a keeper sent off and a penalty is giving someone a serious injury without even conceding a free kick.

I agree, R2 button is the way forward - that or the chip shot - but that is a lot harder to pull off.

Just use the 45 degree Trick Chip and it works everytime, wait till the keeper moves forward a few yards then get at a 45 degree angle and chip away. :)

men...scoring one on one with goalie is like childs play!!
just slow second before he runs into your legs and with R2 turn 45° in any side and shot just before he slides at you.
can do it with any attacer

i think pro evo is really realistic in this aspect....think about it urself your through one on one with a keaper, your drawing at 1-1 your gonna be a hero or a villian, you score or smash it over the bar....so its the same in pro some players will be better in these situation than other......for instance 1 on 1 your more likely to score with henry than you are with gallas....in my opinion its a good feature can be frustrating but a good feature

I think that you are all misunderstanding this.....

I mean being 1 on 1 with the keeper and side footing it past him. I am not interested in rounding the keeper all the time. I want some variation!

I also have this problem but to be fair it is mostly Robbie Savage who misses them. That will teach me to sign players on free's.

I think you have to direct your shots a lot more than in the older games. I still can't get it right either.
