So How Does This Work, Then?

I assume you attach the file in a post?

Do this by not using the 'Quick Reply' box.
Click on the 'post reply' button to get the option to attach files.

The digital camera I have access to only makes Quicktime movie files, or .MOV.
What programs can I use to convert them to avi and mpg files?

Hopefully, people will mail the (zipped) x-port replays to Hitman, he will then trickle 'em down to me, I'll make the MPEG's, they then need to be compressed to less than 1mb (Mutu), re-sent to Hitman & posted here.

I own PES3, so I don't think I can help with WE series
'coz the 2 formats corrupt the x-port save files (I think)

Sounds complex, but I can bang out an Mpeg in 10 mins.
The quality is really good.
The bit that takes time is the compression.
5 secs equates to 1mb (uncompressed)
5 secs is only enough for a few goals, ie 1st touch blasts. As you know, some replays need to be around 10 secs; hence the compression...

We're gonna do a test (un-compressed) Mpeg of around 3-4 secs tomorrow, hopefully.
I wanna check the load-times; this needs to be accessable.
Many may have B. Band, but if the rest of us have to wait 15mins for 1 replay..

Bear with me & Mutu for a few days though.
I work odd hours, but get big chunks of days-off. ;)

We may limit one goal per person (x-port) initially, although you can post you non-xport links in this forum too, and swap x-port files.

If we have GOTM I can do the MPEG's & people can let me know which cam. angle they want etc.
Once it's up though, that'll be it, as far as I'm concerned.
The digi-cam ones are very good, but MPEG is better, if we can keep the file size down & the resolution/f. rate up.

If people want an MPEG quality replica of a goal already in another format, don't see why they can't x-port it to me (via Hitman). As long as it's named properly, so people know if they've seen it before.

Sounds good.
Hopefully the attached goal files will be available to download and won't want to open by themselves (in Winamp for me for some reason).

I'm going to upload some of my goals to http://www.domaindlx.com/ and see if that is a good place for them. They offer 100MB. I don't know everything about them yet so do read the terms first.

btw if anyone wants to lend Mutu a hand with the compression (or offer me an idiots guide to Virtualdub or similar) I'm up for that!
I got Virtualdub but find it rather un-stevieboy-friendly  :(

Flipper the Priest said:
So if people send in X-Port goals they will be converted to movie clips?

Exactly.
That's the plan.
PES3 only for me, anyhow. Someone else may come forward to do WE series.
1 per member only, to begin with.
The goal of the month will be a poll of between 5-10 goals I should imagine.
Just depends how quickly we get round to posting them up.
We can't expect people to load many more than that!

Hitman will clarify all this, nothing's finalised as yet, but I think our intentions are clear, from the forum lay-out. Patience will be needed initially, but people can still post all their links to goals in "Goal Clips" in the meantime.

That's cool. :)
I think the first one's 1.4mb, Mutu.
8 second clip. That needs over 25% lopped-off in compression.
People are gonna wait, they waited a long time for the forum.
I'll definately try to post a test MPEG of less than 1mb tonight, though.
It'll only be around 3-4 secs (uncompressed) however.
The quality should be very good...

I eagerly await your goals.

:)

I love watching other people's goals from PES and comparing them to mine. Obviously, mine are always the best. :D

Just a note to remind people that when making their x-port files, remember which slot in your memory card the file came from. Tell us in the email.
This saves me going through all my saves when uploading to my mem. card.
It will make the process of getting your replay up on the gallery much quicker.
Thanks
SVB :)

I always number my replays with the slot number :)

Been trying to use WinMPG but it keeps crashing for some reason. Will keep trying.

Anyone got any ideas for a decent place which will let you upload goals (possibly around 2-4MB)? Need more space!

EDIT:- Is it possible to attach many rar files of less than 1MB so that they can be put together to make the vid?
