I'll just give you my back story now, and you can edit it in.

"Dale 'Gambler' Chapman. White American, P.O.B - Dodge county, Wisconsin.
His 15th birthday was a key time for him. After recieving a brief rogering by his bastard father, he was given $5, an old pistol and was let loose among the townships of Dodge, Wisconsin as a free man. Various saloons at the time were reported to have been cleaned out by a baby faced kid, known only to them by the nickname 'Gambler'.
As his name dictates, he was known by his prowess at a game of cards, which of course led him to numerous saloons in which he made his living and his reputation.
5 years later, and Gambler is one of the most feared drunks in all of wisconsin, mainly through his ability to fleece anyone of a few dollars, which was something to get by on (This also paid for the wenches and the occasional rent boy).
It was also around this time that he had recieved word of a new gang searching for fresh blood. Word had got to Gambler that they were looking for men with no morals or no sense of remorse; something that Gambler thought he excelled in to no end. So it was his decision to ride out to meet these so called 'Cuntsboro Creek Gang' and see where this chapter in his life would take him..."

Regarding the usernames appearing in the game, you can pick predetermined game characters, who come with their own name.
Online, players are marked with both the character's name and the PSN username, in a little pop up above the head.
Think names can't be edited.
