I've just finished my first BAL season at Roda JC in Holland. Amazingly with such an average team and plenty of stupid teammates, we won the league. I played 28 games, scoring 4 with 8 assists - assist leader for the league, which also earned me Player of the Season. Most games were low scoring, lots of 1-0 wins and plenty of 0-0 draws. I'm on 5 minute games though so that's part of the reason why I'm sure.

I did a club search out of curiosity and got an offer from Bordeaux, who only finished 10th in Ligue 1 but rated a whopping 159 places higher than Roda. I'm given a 53% chance of game time and the coaching points are much better, more than twice as much. Competition for places will be tougher at Bordeaux but my team mates will be much better.

I feel like a key player at Roda but still not one of the manager's favourites apparently. There will be Champions League football though... so what would you do?

I think its better to stay at Roda because you play in all matches right, now if you move to Bordeaux even if they're better you won't get full time in matches so you won't grow as player.

I say stay at Roda, then wait for better opportunity.

What's the likelihood of you getting playing time at Bordeaux?

It was 53%, "Normal" in the club search.

However, I posted the question nearly a week ago so I can update you on what I did.

I cheated! I split the save and started the season with both teams. At first it seemed Roda was the right choice, lots of action, still playing AMF, scoring and creating but still frustrated at players running into opponents rather than passing. I scored the winning goal in the first Champions League game against St Etienne but we lost against Sporting Lisbon and Man City (with two from C. Ronaldo, a premonition or just silly PES transfers) During this time I completed CMF position training and got shoved to the left of the midfield four.

With Bordeaux I scored in the first training match so was picked to start the season in AMF but had a stinker and was dropped. I scored in the next training match so was put back into the team at LMF, which was the other position I was given 'at birth.' Fair enough, the other AMF is Obraniak and he's the top scorer. LMF was frustrating at first as the team played predominantly down the right with Gouffran, another key player. I seemed to only get picked for the home games but noticed my stats were improving much quicker than at Roda. Gradually I got more involved in the games from the left and now have way through the season I'm starting about 75% of the time, always on the left.

So, decision made. I'm at Bordeaux. I'm improving quicker, my team mates are better so the game's less frustrating. We're 3rd in the league looking good for Champions League or at least Europa League.

Out of curiosity looking at Tournament Info, Roda are 14th in the Eredivisie without me and got hammered in the Champs League.

Thanks for your input anyway guys

If you think Ronaldo to Man City is a crazy transfer, you should see the transfers on my ML game - Messi and Xavi have gone to Real Madrid, while Ronaldo and Alonso have to Barcelona

Nah didn't think it was crazy at all, a very real possibility actually, even though I don't think it will happen. The Real-Barca switches in your game are mental though.

In Football Manager a player's favourite teams have an impact on where he might or might not go, as does the fans opinion. I wish PES could implement this sort of thing somehow.

In my game Ronaldo went to M.City as well,Messi to Juventus. But i don't mind this,it makes it more realistic that whille i rise as new star they'll switch clubs and so on.
