Aye :crymore:

The backlash has been pretty astonishing given how average he's been. Nice guy, plenty of effort and a few pieces of flair, but all in all, not suited and a decent mve for everyone.

He was a bit light weight for the Premier League, good player mind just better suited to a more technical league.

Not technical, he needs a league where the tempo is low so he can fly down either one of the wings. I never thought he was suited to play as a striker.

Also, he's too inconsistent even in the game. One minute he looks world class the next minute he looks like Sidibe.

Totally agree with that mate. I've said before on here and other threads that he's played his best football as a winger with a free role. His work-rate is excellent, and he has the flair and acceleration, so he'd make a much better winger than striker, imo. He'd suit a system like Wolfsburg's 4-2-3-1 much better than our two banks of four, then a target man playing just a touch deeper than a forward.

No joke as well mate, Pulis said he thinks he's ok to let Eidur and Tuncay go as Carew and SIDIBE are coming into the squad. You have to laugh.

He was a great left winger at Fenerbahce. I never thought of him as a striker until he played as one at Boro. I guess he was first played there because of Downing.

As for your strikers; Carew, Fuller and Jones is a decent trio to have. Although you'd probably need a new striker in the summer.

I'm not a Stoke expert, but doesn't your central mid look a bit shit on paper?

It looks a bit shit on the pitch too.

No worries fella, the second goal was a cracking move.

Was that the 3rd win for Dougie against Sheffield Utd?

Thought I'd let you know a rumour I've heard from someone who usually gets good info...

Pulis getting itchy feet, wants to try something new with the club. Not quite sure what, but Coates looking to employ someone who will leave a legacy and develop a self-sufficient club in time.

The source suggested Rafa Benitez could come in the Summer if we stay up. Rafa's said he wants to take on a new project, where he can shape everything from the start. Here's an article where he discusses his future very briefly.

Daily Mail article said:
He is eager for a project where he can demonstrate that he can build a club combining a thriving academy with the transfer market. Given his record - even his mixed six months at Inter gained him the Italian Super Cup and the FIFA World Club Cup - he will not be waiting long.

'My job is to analyse clubs and say, "I know how we can improve this team, we can spend money here or spend money there". Right now I'm preparing projects for different options and different clubs because it could be this one, it could be that one. The main thing will be the transfer targets, as it depends on the potential of the club. But I want to work in England.'
Like I say, the guy gets good info, and there are the signs that all is not well at Stoke. Even so, it still seems far-fetched, but if Rafa is serious about wanting a project in England where he can start over then it would be a good opportunity. One of the biggest questions is what happens to Pulis for me, Coates and Pulis have a strong friendship so how ruthless is Coates going to be?

yep, heard about that. Do you need a 6'4 beast with no technique that once kicked Aguero in the FACE? :folarm:
