2 teams i like so hope its a quality game. Wigan sneaking that win at Pompey could be what they needed to bounce back from their little blip.

Huge amount of respect for Wenger but he doesn't half go on.
Obviously he didn't see the Van Persie incident either.
Coates was on Five Live earlier saying about it. Basically that no-one except Wenger saw it that way, that only one side got a player sent off and it wasn't Stoke, that he really respects Wenger as a manager but on this occasion he was completely wrong.

In short, he acted with the good grace and decorum that's been lacking from Arsenal since Wenger took over.

Saturday, 12:45 kick off, Wigan and Stoke meat again ;). 'mon Wigan.
As I've said in the Wigan thread, I expect a full-blooded contest. The result could go either way. We've got some cracking results, then we've got some not so good - on the road particularly.

I'm going to sit on the fence for now and go for a 1-1. Olly and Heskey.

Nath, that sig is legendary :D

Wenger is just a moaning git to be honest, one of the best managers around. But when he loses my god you don't half know about it.

Anyhoot, like I've said before, two big teams, I think Wigan will try and match Stoke in the physical department. Will lose that concentration on playing the better football and will consequently lose the game. My 2 pence.

Glad you like it! It's a design what's going on some t-shirts a fella from the Oatcake makes. Have a butchers at the Arsenal thread for Pulis' reply. Top draw stuff tbh, and not Alan Partridge's top draw at the Linton Travel Tavern.

I've seen the highlights a number of times now and I must say I'm disgusted with Stoke.

Why did you stop at injuring just three of their players?

Well, Rotherham tonight. A tie we'd be expected to win comfortably. If supproting Stoke has taught me anything, it's that ties like these are a banana skin. And we tend to jump both-footed onto them. That said, potentially a quarter-final at stake.

Hoepfully Big Dave can get a goal or two to start the ball rolling. That said, a £5million player shouldn't be needing a Carling Cup game in November against a League 2 side to be starting his season.

theres a stat on pro in special abilities for long throw i think. does this work as a cross from the sort of distance that delap uses? i'm gonna try it from now on whenever i get a throw near the box but haven't seen it pat off yey.

Nah, I don't think it doesn't really work in the same way. It's tricky to put something quite as unique in I guess.

I wonder if the pomp would employ crouch in defence to counter delaps throw, some kind of rugby line out lift might be effective aswell.

Stoke played mainly fringe players in the last round, so it could be similar scenario tonight. Yeah, would be good for Kitson to get off the mark.

I expect:

GK: Simonsen
RB: Wilkinson
LB: Dickinson
CB: Sonko
CB: Cort
RM: Cresswell
LM: Pugh
CM: Whelan
CM: Amdy Faye
ST: Pericard
ST: Kitson

I would play:
GK: Simonsen
RB: Wilkinson
LB: Dickinson
CB: Sonko
CB: Cort
RM: Not Cresswell
LM: Demar Phillips
CM: Whelan
CM: Pugh
ST: Pericard
ST: Kitson

Should be strong enough. Whelan's been unlucky not to get more 1st team action i think.

couldn't the keeper just tell the defenders beforehand that any throws into the box are his, get out of the fucking way and just let the keeper jump for it and more often than not, the ref will probably give a free kick if the attacker beats the goalie to the ball
