I really think it needs to be made fully manual and I'm not talking about tapping A/X twice, thats fine and a different type of tackle to what I'm talking about. Its the close in automatic tackle when you hold A/X or RB/R1 and A/X. You use it the most as it has the least risk.
The computer is in full control of when you tackle this way. Alot of the time it goes to tackle too early when you wouldn't and misses the ball, or doesn't make the tackle when you could have won it. Konami came out with rubbish that you could tackle when you want when they talked about features this year. Not true. Only when you double tap A/X, but this is not a suitable tackle all the time and a less used and different one. Its a lunging last gasp tackle or for use at a distant, and a high risk tackle.
Holding A/X to pressurise is rubbish anyway. Your players walk too slowly towards the opponent and get beaten easily as a result, unless your on top of the player. It's no good for closing down. In which case, its only efffective for when your on top of the player and want to make a tackle. But, the computer decides if it will or not and not when you want all of the time. It should be a manual tackle with a A/X. 1. It's only effective anyway the instant you want to make the tackle. 2. The computer is not good at deciding when, and I should control that.
Holding RB/R1 and A/X has the same problem with its tackling, but at least its somewhat effective in closing down when pressed unlike just holding A/X. But, it can close down at the wrong angle sometimes e.g. into just behind the attacker and you can get shrugged off the ball easily. Another thing that the computer decides and can get wrong. I have a sprint button and a LS. I can easily chase down the attacker manually myself and chose the proper angle to go in on him.
Hold up play, lunging tackle(tap A/X twice), and sliding tackle are manual. Chasing down and making the close in tackle should be too. I know at least my defense would be alot better with it being fully manual. The amount of times I've shouted at the computer for tackling too early, or not tackling at all because it didn't think it was the right time is far too much. Give us full control please. I can make better decisions than the computer.
