Team Spirit is breaking ML

I think the analogue sticks are very sensitive and shooting from an angle almost imposible to get on target if you aint facing directly straight at goal, the slightest nudge will put your shot way off target .

I agree, however on occasions I've managed to score from a less than 45º angle... I think there's a trick to get it right in there somewhere, I just haven't quite figured it out.

But as irritating as this can be, it forces me to work harder to get to shoot from a more frontal position, and nearer to minimise the chance of it going wide if I aim wrong, and this is not that unrealistic if you think about it.

More than half way through my Seria B ML.
Team Spirit has evened itself out. Most teams im playing now have TS in the 70s. My TS is still 95ish and im less worried about it dropping down to the 80s if i make few team changes or substitutions. I think it really affects your players if it goes down to the 60s.
Shooting still hard , 15 goals in 28 matches. I had a thrilling 3-2 win at Modena though. Still need to find out if i can get this directional guide to work, must be a button im not pressing or something.

I always played with arrows, but when I turned manual shooting on... Oh boy, it was a parody each time I would try to shoot. I practiced a lot, but the only positive shots were made if I was right in front of the net, all other shots went across the ocean. Then I switched to analog sticks and it was SO MUCH better. With arrows, there was almost no balance for me, if you shoot right, the ball will go wide up to the right corner flag. With analog, I could shoot much more accurate, since it has a lot more options to be directed. Anyway in my first 4 games I scored only one goal. Despite making good opportunities for myself with manual passing, I just couldnt finish, even one on one with GK, only because I would turn analog a bit too much and the ball would go to funny directions. I decided to go back to automatic, but with all manual passing. (I tryed advanced shooting, but each time the ball goes very high, even if I press shooting button a little bit, it becomes like a cross and the ball goes over the net. I dont get it.)

As far as team spirit goes... My first 4 games were like this: 1-0 got beaten by OL away. I just tryed to defend, because they were really good, with team spirit 89. I am managing Toulouse by the way and I had a good TS already, at about 71 and managed to get it to 85 at the moment. My next three games were: 1-0 won against Troyes (low ts), 0-0, 0-0 with other few teams with low spirits as well. The thing that struck me during those games, that CPU AI had absolutely no shoots towards my net. None in two matches. I was allowed to control the ball, make runs and they seemed to be very slow, programmed, scripted whatever. Thats clearly theyr team spirit, I think it was at 67. The only way I didnt score, was because of manual shooting. I changed that and started scoring goals every game... Now, the most interesting thing. I was playing away against Angers, theyr tm at about 69. So was expecting again a super easy game, but got beaten 6-3. I conceded only one goal in four games and now 6 in one. Absolutely every shot they took - it was almost a guaranteed goal. My defenders were slow, despite team spirit 85. My goalkeeper was non exist, despite good form in recent matches. I dont know how to explain this. haha

I've actually gone back to basic shooting now... Decided it would take me way too many seasons to win the CL because in those matches sometimes the pressure is so high I don't have time to prepare a shot and miss too much, getting kicked out even though I played better and had more shots than the AI team...

Got frustrated with say, needing desperately a goal to continue, getting a couple of amazing chances in the last seconds and blowing them shooting wide. Happened way too many times for my liking And it detracted from realism since those players would in real life, more likely at least shoot on goal.

So with manual shooting I score slightly too little but with auto I score a bit too much... Not sure which one I prefer right now.

Yes, exactly. I`m using basic shooting again and not planning to come back, because of the reasons you`ve mentioned. I might be too accurate at shooting at the moment, given the fact that I play with weaker team, but then, PES is built to play with good teams, attacking football, with lots unreal, fantastic goals. I doubt I can achieve any realism while playing with weaker teams, especially from lower divisions. So, what the heck, I`ll stay with basic shooting. Manual passing is pretty good balance for me. At least I cant pass like Barcelona.

Try the advanced shooting. It's a little counter-intuitive at first. But once you get a hang of it, IMO it's very very enjoyable. Borderline overpowered even.

The trick to advanced shooting is you need to initiate the shot and watch the power bar go up and only after that do you push the analogue stick to pick a direction.

Bottom corner shots are EASY pickings...just hit 3/4 power in the shot bar and pull hard on the analogue stick (back left or back right).

With top corner shots, it is a little trickier. You need to control the analogue stick. If you push forward all the way, the ball will go over or hit the bar. You need to push the stick gently and you'll be rewarded with a top corner shot.

IMO, best way to play the game is advanced shooting and manual passing. That way you have total control of the shot placement and you can use manual passing to hit those easy tap ins. Advanced shooting is hopeless on tap ins. You really need manual passing for this.

Thanks!! I`ll try to practice advanced shooting, because I really didnt get it at first, since all my shots were more of crossing, than shooting. I see how it works now.

Also another useful thing I found.. You can try shooting on max power and aim just to the left or right of the keeper and not to the bottom corner. If you got a player with a powerful shot (90+), lower skilled keepers can spill the ball into the net.

I was thinking of going back to basic shooting, but im going to play 2 full mastr league seasons with manual and see if i improve with time. Its so rewarding when you score it feels like an achievement , even the simple goals.

I did those 2 seasons, still got sent out of the CL in the quarter finals clearly for missing easy goals... Didn't seem like I'd get better at it as soon as I'd like... Not enough improvement over time beyond a certain point...

Aaand back to manual shooting. Got bored of scoring 4+ on most matches on superstar (8 mins) without any effort.

I had a game last v Siena in my ML , i got 5 freekicks! Also my keeper saved some brilliant shots from 8 yards, looked amazing.
Thats proved it can do it, just the balance of the programing of refs and Keepers that Konami have to get right.
