The first match of ML is always massively scripted, or is it me?

I've started a handful of ML seasons at Liga NOS with both a small team and a big team, and the first match is always impossible not to lose in Superstar, and nearly impossible at Top Player, whether it's the supercup or the league. After this insane first match all games become pretty much normal with barely any noticeable scripting. I have repeated these first matches dozens of times literally, switching tactics and formations to no avail. Does anyone have the same experience?

Typical occurrences are taking a goal straight away without even being able to touch the ball or taking a goal right after scoring, several times if needed! Apart from these instances the match behaves normally. Again, this is something that then never happens again in other matches unless maybe if I'm facing a much better team. I wonder if it's to do with the fact that on this first match my team spirit is lower than the other team's, and after this it's almost always higher?

In all previous games I've experienced this where the AI screws you over in the first game without fail. It hasn't been the case for me this year though, and I've started 4 master leagues now winning the first game comfortably on them all (superstar).
Maybe it is the team spirit level that's conspiring against you.

For me, I decided to that there was no point pussy footing around, so I set the team up to my preferred formation etc and Team Spirit crashed right down. Sure, those first 7 or so games were really tough (Superstar as well), but we ultimately scraped into the play-offs with a now decent Team Spirit and got promoted.

I don't recall if I won the first match or not, but I know that wins versus losses was close for the first month. Team spirit is huge in this game, so I imagine that the first matches for everyone are pretty tough since it starts in the 70s (IIRC) even if you don't change anything.

I'm not completely certain but I did have mine above 80 on them, I always go for a custom fluid formation and tactics too.
