No he doesn't.
The problem is too many veterans, suggestions for additions were the cause of the problem so I'm relatively sure they aren't the solution.
Veteran does imply something historic so removing the bar of the inactive ones seems to defeat the point, furthermore it is less important to remove them if they're not active in any case. The only ones who should have the status removed are those who may have been given it in error, or everyone and just maintain the Hall of Fame in the way mentioned previously.
The whole system is flawed if you ask me, there are people that became Vets simply because they were active at the time they were giving them out, I saw 1 vet who only joined in 2006 while members that were here before me and are still active were ignored, the whole thing should be scrapped and only given to people who deserve it and if you cannot remember who they all are then they should not get it back....
Easier to reply to both.
I'm falling more in favour of getting rid of the last three or four batches of vets - whilst also getting rid of a handful of old ones who probably didn't deserve it as it grew in stature, prior to its collapse.
Some members changed after getting it, becoming far more arrogant and up themselves on the forum where prior to it they were good members.
Minof, join date has nothing to do with it. Its what you've contributed to the forum as a whole. Members who have, in an example which came up recently, provided a lot of talking points on the forum over the years and therefore had an influence on the shape of the forum over a very long period of time should retain their vet status - there's a few in particular who fit that.
Members in the Hall of Fame should be picked solely from veterans, signifying what sort of members should get the veteran status in the first instance.
Dunno what's been decided but if it went to some sort of vote, the most deserving person I can think of would be Cannon Ball.
A vote for what? :erm:
You deserve it too. Simply because you have
That's bollocks. Just because someone gets an award for doing well one year doesn't mean they should become a vet. Bishop's a good member and it was he and one other not having the veteran status when certain others less deserving of it do have it that's resulted in this thread - though all veterans have been aware a few of us aren't happy with the large numbers anyway. That doesn't mean Bishop will get it - we shouldn't have any new ones - more that he's one of many benchmarks we can use to drop others.
