So In the wake of the World Cup, I got an urge to play some football games again and dusted off an old template for a french target man-esque striker that I used to play a while back. Why french? Well come on, they need someone to help 'em out after this debacle. Damn you Domenech!

Had a pretty good scout game, nothing too fancy. Almost had an assist and we're instrumental in setting up another goal (again, no assist though). Still rated in at 7.0, which I found quite acceptable.

In the past, I have generally gone for the highest ranked team during the initial signing. But I figured I'd join the lowest this time, might be easier to get on the first team. Said and done, packed my bags for Boulogne the same day - club; US Boulogne, one of the lowest ranked teams of Ligue 1.

The training matches were... odd. I played really, really well with the reserves but every time I got the chance to play ball with the big boys, things went to hell. The reserve team is just a better side, it seems. Eventually though, I got selected, happy times.

Played about four or five matches as a sub, two of which went absolutely to hell (5.5 rating), one mediocer (6.5) and two really good games (7.5 and 8.0, coming on to score and assist in both games). Then I got chosen to start. Now, Boulogne plays a 5-4-1, a really stupid ass formation when you're trying to be an offensive force. I rarely, if ever, had my teammates with me when I got the ball, which meant a lot of holding, slow running or just back-passing. But I adjusted and it actually went quite smoothly.

However, I moved on Tolouse when the offer came. Phew.

Had a good run with Tolouse, eventually finished at 6th place and I had scored 7 goals, assisting as many. I was positively surprised to see that the French national team had picked me up for the World Cup - I was NOT expecting to play for the national team until atleast EURO 12 and even that was a stretch. But I mean, the team played Cissé upfront most of the time and Benzema and Gignac wasn't even on the team so I guess the AI manager had some weird plan in his artificial head.

The World Cup would prove to be pretty damn succesful. Aside from a draw agains't Romania in the group and a very, very nervy game agains't Italy (2-0 down at half-time, 2-3 by the end of 120 minutes, phew), France had a pretty easy time. The final opponents would be Russia though (they beat Brazil in the semi's, imagine that). Again, a nervy match that went to over-time ended with two quick goals by Cissé (wasn't such a bad idea bringing him then) and myself in the 110+something minutes. And France was champions, oh joy.
Samir Nasri scored the most goals with 4 and won Player of the Tourny, I assisted the most with 2. We both got chosen for the Team of the Tourny.

During the WC though, I got offered a contract with a long-time french favorite side - Paris St-Germain. I expect to be staying at the club for a solid couple of years before moving on, because it is a side that is competitive enough to challenge for the Europa League, as well the domestic cup and league.

BAL is still a blast :p

Just starting my 3rd season on BaL.

Created myself as an AMF from the USA & spent my first 2 years at FC Lorient in Ligue 1. (a club I do recommend as a decent starting point...they're a decent enough side to entertain some thoughts of playing in UEFA club competition in future seasons if things go right...). However, FCL doesn't use an AMF in their tactics, so I found myself shuttling between a RMF or a SS spot at times before mainly playing as a DMF (albeit not a traditional one as I'd be more apt to get forward a bit more often than usual)...

First season, it took me until the 10th game of the season to crack the bench, but I did make an impact, popping in 8 goals and 5 assists for one of the top surprise stories in all of European football. Yes, the little team from Brittany hung tough with the likes of OL, OM, and Bordeaux all season long. It all came down to the last round of the season and Lorient holding a 1 point lead over OL going in. A loss would swing the title to OL as they had a higher goal differencial, but a Lorient win would make it all a moot point.

OL won their final match over Sochaux, but Lorient prevailed over Lille, giving the "Flyin' Fish" a totally unexpected Ligue 1 title and an even more unexpected berth in the Champions League...

In the Coupe de France, Lorient made the Finals, but fell to Bordeaux 2-1 in extra time.

After Year 1, I got a surprise invite for the USMNT at the World Cup...and this would be one of the most important decisions Virtual Bob Bradley ever made.

In the Group Stage, the US drew Cote D'Ivoire, Croatia, and the Netherlands. The Yanks managed to survive the group, drawing the Dutch and Ivorians, while knocking off the Croats. Then things got interesting....Russia in the Ro16, England in the Quarters, Italy in the Semis...all fell by the wayside.

The USMNT had done the unthinkable..they made the World Cup FINALS...and they would face the Netherlands in a rematch of their Group Stage game.

I was a 2nd half sub (as I was in every game in the WC)...and I joined the likes of Breitner, Muller, Kempes, Passarella, and Inesta as "Men Who Made The WC Finals A Living Nightmare For The Oranje" by potting the game winning goal.

The USA won the World Cup.

Yeah, I have a hard time digesting that myself

Anyways, I ended up with 3 goals and an assist in the World Cup, nowhere near close to the leaders, but the late game heroics made enough of an impact with the powers that be that I ended up being named the recipient of the Golden Ball and was named to the All-World Cup XI.
=====================================================
Year 2 was a dream season, as Lorient lapped the field and then some, clinching a 2nd straight Ligue 1 title with 7 fixtures to spare. I ended up netting 30 goals on the season...not a bad sophomore season to say the least, but not enough to capture the Golden Boot (Gignac of Toulouse ended up with 32 on the season). However, I did rack up the Ligue 1 Golden Ball and was on the All-Ligue 1 XI.

In the Champions League, Lorient had a rough draw for the Group Stage, having to deal with Fenerbahce, Arsenal, and Real Madrid. However, as has been the case with Lorient, they amazed everyone by not only advancing to the 2nd round, but topping the group. Arsenal would join them in the Round of 16, while Real Madrid would have to make do with the Europa League (which they duly won, beating Atletico Madrid in the final).

After getting past both AC Milan (2nd round) and Olympiakos (Quarters), Lorient had a massive task ahead in the Semis...dealing with an incredibly stacked Manchester City side. How stacked? Take the big signings from last season (Adebayor, Tevez, Barry, etc) and add some new blood like Lampard, Gerrard, & Sneijder. Yeah. Tough tie to say the least. It ended up 5-5 on aggregate, but thankfully, Lorient had managed to pot 3 goals while at City of Manchester Stadium and would advance to the CL Finals on away goals. Waiting for them? A little club from Catalonia we all know very well...FC Barcelona.

The finals would be anticlimatic, with Lorient winning the biggest club prize in all of Europe 3-1, thanks to 2 goals from me. I ended up taking away the Golden Boot with 15 goals in 13 appearences, but no CL Golden Ball (given to Inesta of Barcelona).

So, the question was...would Lorient win the Treble? It looked extremely favorable as Lorient would be facing bottom of the table Stade Rennais for the Coupe de France. However, Rennais didn't get the script as they took a 1-0 lead early. In the 2nd half, I was subbed in at the 61' minute (strange enough that I didn't get the start, even being the top scorer in the competition with 7 goals). OK, maybe I can work some magic and get this thing to extra time or even pull out a late win. 11 minutes later...I GOT SUBBED OFF! ELEVEN FRICKIN' MINUTES?! A true WTF moment if I ever saw one :realmad:...and also a fateful one, as I decided at that moment that if I got ANY sort of offer from a EPL, La Liga, or Serie A club, my bags were packed and I was GONE...

But of course, there was the matter of playing for one's country during the summer transfer season...meaning I would delay ANY decision until afterwords.

Year 2 meant it was the CONCACAF Gold Cup for the US...we had a bye to the semis (as did Mexico) and would meet Costa Rica (who beat Canada in the play-in). Los Ticos had NO chance as the defending World Champs bombed them 4-0. It set up a classic final with Mexico at the Azteca. A totally back & forth affair, the US made history that day as they won in what was their own personal hell for the first time ever, 3-2 (2 goals from me).

For the Gold Cup, I led all scorers with 3 goals and an assist, copping the Golden Boot, Top Assists, and a spot on the All-Gold Cup XI.

Then came decision day...

Offers poured in...from Lorient, from other Ligue 1 teams (Bordeaux, Grenoble, Lyonnais), from Eredivisie teams (Roda JC & Groningen made attempts)...but nothing from La Liga or Serie A...

However, there was one Premier League team that showed interest (and had during the winter transfer period before)...they offered quite a bit, but not as much as Lorient.

In the end, I thought back to what happened in the Coupe de France and it sealed it for me.

I was off to West Ham United.

You usually get subbed off if you have low stamina, that's why I try to avoid doing breakthroughts when there's a lot of defenders infront of me etc. to avoid getting subbed off.

I started a new BAL as a CF. Finally managed to score two goals in a training game, got a 7.5 rating, but my manager's "confidence" bar went down! Playing as a striker is so frustrating, as I can't get back and defend as much as I would normally, and idiot teammates are an even bigger issue now that I have to rely on them to help create chances.

I also once had his trust or whatever it is go down, but it will start going up next time, somewhy.

God, I do love Paris. Not only is their new kit extremely nice (Red shirt, white shorts, an homage to their original kit), the team is also really, really solid. Third placed in the league at half-way point in the season, still in both the domestic Cup and the Europa League.

Also, France started playing Benzema on top (finally) with the current Wing-forwards being me and Thierry Henry (I picked up the WF position somewhere, even though I'm more suitable as a CF target player). It's worth noting I'm keeping Frank Ribery on the bench :p
We're currently progressing through the EURO 12 qualification without much trouble.

The future is bright.

This is my first post here :)

*Note - This is played on Regular difficulty on an Xbox 360. This is my "escape" from the everyday grind, so I need to make sure playing PES makes me feel good, not becoming a source of frustration. I need to be a hero here ;) Also, my character was created with a face scan using xbox live vision.

Peters (USA) CF
182 cm
75 kg

This picture is taken from end of season 1.

After displaying much potential and ability at the scouting match, Peters scored 4 goals (3 strikes, 1 header) for Babilayna. After the game, he was quoted as saying, "My dream is to play in La Liga for a competitive team." Insiders say he specifically would like to play next to Diego Forlan for Atletico Madrid, but he's being realistic about the opportunity anytime soon.

Offers came in from all leagues, and Peters ultimately decided on joining A.C. Chievo Verona in Serie A play. "It gives me the best chance to be competitive early." After playing 2 training matches, he was moved to the A training squad and by the next match was promoted to the Bench.

Peters' first goal came in his 2nd outing, a jolting smash to tie the match 1-1.

The seasons was an extraordinary one for Peters. After 4 games coming off the bench, Peters made the starting 11 and never looked back.

A.C. Chievo Verona was revitalized with the young striker's play and was a top 5 team after the 10th game. The Italian Cup proved an early challenge though. With a easy defeat of Calcia Catania in the 16 team round, Chievo was eliminated by U.S.C. Palmero in the Final Eight battle. Inter went on to defeat A.C. Milan in the final and claim the cup.

The season looked up from there, as Chievo's confidence grew with every match fought, especially in the latter half of the season. Chievo battled for 1st place along ACF Fiorentina for the better part of the second half of the season. It was a war of atrition, and wasn't until week 43 that dust cleared and Chievo lay ahead by 3 points (69 - 66). Juventus made a last ditch effort, sliding into 2nd place by season's end. After a 4-0 win over S.S. Lazio in week 44, A.C. Chievo clinched the Serie A Champions title.

Chievo showed supreme confidence in the last part of the season, going 8 - 1 - 1 in their title run after week 33 to close out the season and be crowned champions with a record of 23w - 12d - 3l.

Peters meanwhile was having the debut season of a lifetime. By week 41, Peters ranked 2nd in Assists with 6 and 2nd in Goals Scored with 23, a runner-up to Del Piero of Juventus with 26. But in week 42, Peters scored 4 goals (24, 25, 26, 27) against Atalanta B.C. to go 1 goal up on Del Piero with 2 games left. He went on to score 2 goals in the final two games to bring his total up to 28 goals scored, ranking 1st in Goals Scored and earning Top Scorer honors. He also tied for 1st in Goals Assisted with Adailton of Bologna FC with 9 assists. He was awared Serie A Player of the Year honors as well, a top year indeed.

Where will Peters end up after a dominating 1st season? After winning astounding accolades at the mere age of 17, this offseason holds many questions. Insiders say winning with Chievo was bittersweet. Many of the older team members were reluctant to embrace the young star as an equal, even with such ability shown every week. This has shown throughout the season as the young player was often seen celebrating goals on his own, without congratulations from other members. SS Pellissier was his mentor though and took the player under his wing. He was one of the only members seen frequently enjoying Peters' goal scoring with him during play, along with Bentivoglio and Mantovani. Bogdani seemed indifferent and Granoche plain aggitated, possibly the main source of envy and frustration. But after signs of the teams confidence swelling throughout the season, the older players let up and showed signs of teamsmanship.

The unexpected media frenzy surrounding Peters' decision is bordering unbearable for the young striker, not used to such analyzation and speculation into his life. With the USA not qualifying for the 2010 World Cup, this affords Peters with some time to weigh his options. He does hope to be called up for National Team play in his career and quietly wishes to help the U.S. make an appearance in 2014.

Offers are flooding from football clubs though, and a decision must be made.

A.C Chievo Verona offers 790p
Udinese Calcio offers 780p
Atalanta B.C. offers 670p
A.J. Auxerre offers 780p
S.S.C. Napoli offers 770p
Fulham F.C. offers 740p
R.C. Deportivo La Coruna offers 790p
Stade Rennais offers 800p in a last bidding effort

A press conference is set for next week, where Peters will announce his decision...

Im thinking of going back to playing Regular, if only for the sense of accomplishment. Regular difficulty and Professional difficulty is virtually night and day.

A few numbers;

PSG second season (Regular):
- Average team goal per match ratio ~2.0
- Average conceded goal per match ratio ~0.3 (due to the AI not being able to score, basically)
- My Player Goal per match ratio ~1.0
- My player average rating 7.45

PSG third season (Professional):
- Average team goal per match ratio ~0.2
- Average conceded goal per match ratio ~0.3
- My Player Goal per match ratio ~0.2
- My player average rating 6.00

People may want realism, they may want to fight more for their reward. But sometimes, it's just riddiculous.

^^^ Agreed

I play on regular and are having an extreme blast so far! I'm a SS with Aston Villa.

In my very first season we are first in the league and in the final of the cup against Tottenham.
So far I've scored 22 goals in 28 games with 4 assists as a 17 year old!

I'm married and work 7 to 6 so I don't have that much time to really play, I really don't want to struggle through 8 season just to make it realistic. I want to be a superstar and end up as the most decorated and best football player ever.

Finished my first season last night...went on to win the Premier League and Cup double and finished as the most valuable player in both. I wasn't the top scorer in the cup, but did finish as the top scorer in the league!

Then came the world cup, I was selected for Germany but only came of the bench as Germany shockingly dropped out after the group fase...I was pissed.

In our first game we drew against Cameroon 0-0
Second game we were behind 0-1 against Norway when I came on to get the equalising goal and save the team, ending in a draw.
In the 3rd game against Paraguay we were behind 1-2 when I came on, I got the equaliser again but 3 draws weren't enough and we were out...sigh

My end of first season stats are:
Aston Villa: 38 games, 34 goals, 5 assists, 7.11 average rating
Germany National team: 3 games, 2 goals, 7.5 average rating

I re-signed with Aston Villa again, to see our luck in the Champions League this year! After this year though I hope to play for one of the bigger teams!

Is there any to change your commentary name? Some editor maybe?

I'm in my season number 5 now, playing for Man Utd, and when i began my career i didnt see i could put up a commentary name, and my name is there on the possible ones =(

My career is being pretty nice, i've won the italian cup in first season with catania, then moved to juventus in the half of the second, after playing for Chievo. We had a pretty bad end of season, dropping from 2nd in the league to 6th and got out in the semis of the UCL against Internazionale (i scored twice against R. Madrid in the quarters to turn the game around, which got me on the starting squad. It was pretty nice =)).

In third Season we won the Serie A with me as assist leader. In the Cup Internazionale eliminated us again after two 0-0 draws and a ridiculous penalty shootout where we didnt score a single goal. In the Europa Cup we progressed easily to the semis, only one curious situation was in the 32 round were we battled against panathinaikos and tied the two games 0-0, with me on the bench till the 80th minute of the second (didnt come in in the first). At extra time I scored two goals and assisted one... in only 5 mins! It ended 3-0

But in the semis we got eliminated at the penalty shootout after two 0-0 draws again and guess what... Inter was on the other side. Plus we lost both league games against them. It was starting to annoy me, even though i want to play for them in the future

Next Season i moved to man utd to play as SS (I was originally an AMF), scoring 30 goals and assisting a few (when the season was on its half I only had scored 3 goals until then =o). We won the FA Cup, in which I was top scorer. On the league we finished 2nd and in the UCL we were out in the quarters

Now on the 5th season we are 2nd in the league 1 point behind Man. City. I`ve just played the first semifinal game of the UCL and scored the only goal in an away match against Lyon. Hoping to get my first european title now. And well, we got to beat Inter in the quarter finals :D

I want to win all the cups and leagues possible on this mode, so if I win the EPL this season i will be moving on in the 6th. Otherwise, I think I will stay in the Old Trafford

My international career is being boring, i've won everything that was possible in the end of the third season with Italy (I'm Brazilian, but I dont like the Brazilian National Team that much ) ... WC2010 and Euro 2012. I want to be the MVP in a World Cup, after that I think I'll ask for my international retirement.

I'm sorry for the long post and for my bad english

This game mode is really addicting

The national team (no mather which you choose) suck SOOO hard at the first world cup, its extremly annoying see you're with great player do nothing.
I choose Argentina, we couldnt pass through the first phase lol
Group was Egypt, Greek an Israel.

I think it's ment to be like that... something like they dont use you too much, then they loose awfully their chance on the world cup, 'cause after the world cup, in the next national games (regional cup for example) the team improves a lot.

My France side actually WON the 2010 World Cup.

Update - Winners and losers:
Where were we last time around? Oh right, I was loving PSG. Well, that didn't last.

Well first off, we eventually won the domestic league and the Europa League, but finished second in the cup. All was well. However...

Injury hit me during the third season and I missed quite a few matches with PSG. Add in a couple of pretty shitty games played and just general fatigue of playing with such a unimaginative team (what happened to last season?!) and I grew tired, skipping quite a few matches. Eventually, the end of the season came and PSG announced that they wouldn't renew my contract. Hell, they had won the league without my help, why would they?

EURO 2012 - Reboot
Despite the large failure that my third season was, I still got called up for EURO 12. First game didn't quite work out that well though - Red carded after half-time, in a game agains't Sweden that we lost 1-2. However, beating Scotland and Israel eventually led to a second place finish in the group stage.

We continued a good finishing form by beating Spain in the Last 16 and Italy in the Quarterfinals. It would all come to an end agains't England though.

Up by one after a by-the-book attack early on, I felt like we had a good grip on the game and one leg in the final. But as I was subbed out, relaxing my bones for the coming glory, the old bastard Beckham scored on the very last attack of regular time.

It would eventually go to penalties and anyone who knows their history knows that England ALWAYS loses when it comes to spot kicks (he he...) Well, history decided to kick me in the face. 4-2 England, we're out, they're in the final (which they won).

I eventually won the award for most goals scored at 5 but didn't make the Team of the Tournament.

End of a season, attached to no team - where to?

Back to Square One

While I had hoped for a team in another league to come for me, none came (atleast no interesting side). So hell, I decided to stay and join - Grenoble Foot 38!

Yeah, yeah, I know. Shut up.

Grenoble is not a very offensive team, much like Bolougne. I had a lot of problems creating anything offensively. Infact, it took me four games before I had my first point (assist) and another one until I had my first goal. Eventually, I grew into the role and had recorded 8 goals and 6 assist by the winter break. Maybe I oughta stay at Grenoble for the entire season?

Les Gones
What do you know, Olympique Lyon came along and wanted me to join their side. While I don't like Lyon very much, it's hard to - as a Target Striker type player - resist playing in a team that plays a 4-3-3 with offensive wingers. This way, I would be playing exactly the same in the French national team as in the club team (they share basically the same playing style and formation). Good times.

The offensive football proved to fit me like a glove and I really felt like I could reach my best possible potential with this club, despite my feelings towards it. I recorded my, as of this date, best ever point performance in Become a Legend (both 09 and 10) with the team - 7 points (3 goals/4 assist) in a 7-0 win.

As I'm writing, there's roughly 6-7 games left of the season and we're a contender for both the domestic cup and league, having gone from 10th to 2nd since my arrival.

Addition: The french national team is crazy right now. Aside from myself on top with Karim Benzema as my back-up (just that says something), our team looks like a little something like this:

Pos: Starting (Back-up)
GK: Hugo Lloris (Stéphane Ruffier, Steve Mandanda)
LB: Gael Clichy (Aly Cissokho)
CB: Philippe Mexès (François Marque)
CB: Adil Rami (---)
RB: Ronald Zubar (Bacary Sagna)
DMF: Didier Digard (Mathieu Coutadeur)
CMF: Blaise Matuidi (Morgan Amalfitano)
AMF: Yoann Gourcuff (Samir Nasri)
WF: Jérémy Menez (Theirry Henry)
WF: Franck Ribéry (---)
CF: Jérôme Mathis* (Karim Benzema, André-Pierre Gignac)
*this is me

I just love how the game calls up people you'd never see in your national team at all. I've personally fallen for Adil Rami and Morgan Amalfitano, they're beasts.

Also, Yoann Gourcuffs Overall rating is 95. He has between 94 and 96 in most of his stats. And I haven't touched him in any kind of editor. Insane!

I think that when in comes to think about what team you choose, no matter how popular or important they are, just think about you're favourite position and you're favourite style of gameplay.

For example, im playing right now as AMF in Valencia FC. I had many chances to move to Real Madrid (and im still thinking about moving here :p) or even Barcelona (im not even considering it), but i still stay on Valencia because of the formation.
Valencia uses a 4-4-1-1, and like that i play almost like a SS, and its way easy to score goals and assists (especially when you assist Villa), and also i got the number 10 on my t-shirt.

Wow, just had my best match so far in BAL. And its REALLY my best match. Until it I've only had 4 as my maximum sum of assists+goals in a match (had a couple hattricks with an assist and scored 4 goals two times). In this one I assisted 3 and scored SIX, including my first free kick ever. It was pretty nice.

Playing for R. Madrid now, it was a match against ADM. My rating was only 8 though ¬¬

lol, thats kinda lots a scores

I'm with the group who thinks that its impossible to get a rating higher than 8.0. The coach could rate you with 8.5 after a match, the game rating gives you 8.0 top... at least on xbox 360.

The game was ridiculous, my teammates got me two times in front of goal, which I scored both, then i had a long range shot, 2 one-on-one finishing goals and the free kick. everytime I shot a goal came out lol.

And still, only 8 even though i didnt miss a pass. The manager rated me 8 too. I play it on the PC
