Right, i have gotten bored of starting with teams or with the default team so i am going to start with an "all-star" team, so far in my team i have:

GK: Cech
CB: Terry
CB: Ferdinand
RB: Carragher
LB: Ashley Cole
CMF: Gerrard
CMF: Joe Cole
CMF: Lampard
SS: Ronaldinho
SS: Rooney
CF: Henry

but cannot choose the rest of my team, could anyone suggest the rest of the best players on the game to fit these positions?:

GK, CB, CB, RB, LB, CMF, CMF, CMF, SS, SS, CF.

And then to so i will have a completely full squad i need suggestions for another:

Welcome back...
Just started a new season with Villarreal yesterday and about to play last game of the season and cup final. Results to follow.

Promoted despite 1-0 loss on last day to Ado Den Haag meaning I threw the title away :(.

Villarreal gained consolation in the form of the d2 cup. The return of Riquelme signalled a return to form although it was Forlans exquisite throughball to Guayre which allowed the Spaniard to delicately chip the stranded Ulrich Rame from about 12 yards.

Villarreal fans were seen to be dancing in the street afterwards and proclaiming this was only the beginning.

Just played the greatest, and I mean greatest, WEFA Champions League final I have ever, and I mean ever, had.

The story goes like this...

I'm AS Monaco and I was scheduled to play Barca in the Champs League final, although both of us snuck through in the semi's, Barca on away goals against Man Utd and me in extra time against Juventus (Winner scored in '120+' minutes!)

This is the third season and there is already a lot of history between me and Barca from the previous 2 and a half seasons.

As I was Monaco I started with Vieri in my squad in the first season and so after he scored only 8 goals and his stats began to decrease I started to look for a replacement. I saw that Barca had signed Tuncay from Fenerbahce' in the Christmas period of Season 1, and his stats were outrageous so I did a swap deal: Vieri and a lot of dollar for Tuncay.

I thought Tuncay would be good, he was shit but I was still playing him, and I thought Vieri would flop at Barca, but in 2 seasons he's scored over 60 goals.

And so this was the main talking point going into the final, Vieri vs. Monaco, Tuncay vs. Barca.

As holders I would say I was slight favourites going into the final. The two teams looked like this...

AS Monaco

GK-Landreau

DR-vanden Borre DC-Kompany DC-Heitinga DL-Mathieu

DMC-Muntari

MR-Wilhelmsson ML-Ewerthon

AMC-Tuncay

CF-Farfan SS-Estill

FC Barcelona

GK-Gomes

DR-Belletti DC-Puyol DC-Krol DL-van Bronckhorst

DMC-van Bommel

CMF-Xavi

AML-Ronaldinho

SS-Messi CF-Vieri

AS Monaco vs. FC Barcelona
Stadio Guiseppe Meazza San Siro
2007 Champions League Final

It started off pretty even with both teams knocking the ball around nicely, compared to most other teams Monaco had played during the season, Barca really caused trouble through the middle and the French seemed to be relying on a few lucky ricochets and rebounds as Barca tried to plough forward in the opening 20 minutes.

Monaco's first effort on goal came in the 14th minute from the much scrutinized Sanli Tuncay, who like this effort, had been dissappointing. The holders started to find their grasp on Barca though and they began playing their normal game of working from the back, down the wings and then cutting balls in to the strikers and Estill went close in the 23rd minute forcing a good save from Gomes, who Barca had signed from PSV the season before.

With Monaco starting to believe they had control, Ronaldinho (now wearing the no.6 with Xavi no.10  ) kicked it up a gear and started causing trouble down the left. His low cross in the 29th minute wasn't cleared and the ball fell to Christian Vieri, who with 10 Champions League goals already made no mistake in driving the ball hard and low past French goalkeeper Mikael Landreau to score another goal in a Barca shirt. Vieri reeled away to the masses of Barcelona fans and celebrated with his team mates, while his old team mates looked on in disbelief towards Vincent Kompany who had literally given the ball to Vieri when attempting to clear.

AS Monaco 0 - 1 Barcelona (Vieri '29)

Monaco had a proud record in the Champions League in recent years, losing only once in two campains. That loss had come in their previous Champions League match however at the Delle Alpi in the 2nd leg of their Semi Final with Juventus, and so the fans of Monaco who had travelled to Italy were for once looking shaken as recent form, and the goal scored by Vieri, seemed to point to a Spanish victory.

The Monaco players must have been a bit shaken too, as moments later Ronaldinho broke away again following good work from Xavi, taking the ball round the keeper for the simplest of finishes. Barca were the first team all season that were beating Monaco very easily with hardly any resistance from the team in red and white.

AS Monaco 0 - 2 Barcelona (Vieri '29, Ronaldinho '37)

The whole crowd were now stunned into a silence for the next few minutes as Monaco fans contemplated how this was going wrong, whilst the Barca fans were simply shocked at how easily the holders were losing their crown. As stoppage time hit for the first half, pure disaster struck for Monaco. The star of the first half, Ronaldinho, skipped past Anthony vanden Borre before laying in Vieri. Vieri cut back and with his left foot struck a shot from 20 yards. It cannoned off the outstretched leg of Sulley Muntari, looping over the head of Landreau who couldn't do a thing, and into the back of the Monaco net. The whistle blew for half time immediately afterwards and the game looked as good as won for Barcelona.

Half Time
AS Monaco 0 - 3 FC Barcelona (Vieri '29, '45+, Ronaldinho '37)

At half time the Monaco coach had to something, and so he took off Sanli Tuncay, who had been non-existent in the first half, and replaced him with Spanish centre-forward Fernando Torres. Monaco now moved into a 4-3-3 formation and would have to go for broke in the second half.

As the second half got underway it was clear what both teams were going to play like. With Barca sitting on a 3-0 lead, they had no desire to go at Monaco and began to play more cautiously. Monaco didn't need a second invitation as the Champions Leagues top scorers this season, and so began to pile the pressure on Barca. Torres was already making a menace with his pace, height and skill and soon Krol took him down on the edge of the area.

With dead ball specialist Samue'l Estill over the ball, Barca would have been expecting a shot but the clever young frenchman played a short pass to Torres, who turned and rifled a shot high into the net. With only 15 minutes of the 2nd half played, Monaco had a glimmer of hope.

(Torres '60) AS Monaco 1 - 3 FC Barcelona (Vieri '29, '45+, Ronaldinho '37)

Fans now held their breath as Monaco grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and started playing football that Barcelona simply couldn't deal with. With no answer to Monaco's 3 strikers, Barca were all over the place. Estill and Torres were tearing their opponents apart with insightful one-twos and exciting runs, they now had belief. That belief was further instated when an excellent move resulted in Torres squaring the ball for Jefferson Farfan to roll the ball into the back of the net, only 7 minutes after Torres got the first.

(Torres '60, Farfan '67) AS Monaco 2 - 3 FC Barcelona (Vieri '29, '45+, Ronaldinho '37)

Barca were at sixes and sevens whilst Monaco were now reminiscent of Liverpool in Istanbul 2005, full of self belief and confident that they could find the equaliser. They were right to be confident as Wilhelmsson got to the byline before delivering the perfect cross for Estill to bullet home, coming in late to beat Belletti to the header. Monaco had come from 0-3 down to level in 29 second half minutes.

(Torres '60, Farfan '67, Estill '74) AS Monaco 3 - 3 FC Barcelona (Vieri '29, '45+, Ronaldinho '37)

For all in the stadium it now appeared obvious that there was to be only one winner, and with the iconic sight of first half hero Christian Vieri trudging off for Ezquerro on 76 minutes, it seemed impossible for Monaco to now lose. The French champions appeared adamant to end the tie in 90 minutes, with Muntari and then Ewerthon going close in the space of seconds with Gomes trying his best to keep out a fearless French outfit. There was another ironic twist to go with Vieri's departure as Sanli Tuncay's half time replacement Fernando Torres played a magical one-two chip with Estill. Torres sprinted away from Puyol and with adrenaline and confidence running sky-high, the Spaniard hammered the ball low and underneath the Brazilian keeper. The Monaco fans were in hysterics as they had just witnessed one of the greatest comebacks in Champions League history, and even with 10 minutes still to play, it was a formality as Barcelona had simply appeared to have given up, once again reminiscent of Liverpool's opponents in 2005, AC Milan.

Final Score
(Torres '60, '80, Farfan '67, Estill '74) 4 - 3 FC Barcelona (Vieri '29, 45+', Ronaldinho '37)

Well I just had to tell this story in full, it was truly magical. Never had a game of Pro like it, everything was just perfect. I was getting bored of just winning every game 2,3,4-0 etc and so this was refreshing and brought out all the emotions that make the game the dogs bollocks. By the way I am very bored today, not sad. That's BORED, not SAD.

That's a pretty picture that you painted of your final...

I have been playing the master league on Winning Eleven 9 for 11 seasons now... I have won the Prem every season by a large point margin... in fact, i have not lost or drawn a league match for 9 straight seasons, now working on my 10th consecutive season without dropping points. In case all you guys are wondering, i am playing on 6* difficulty.

I had one good final, that was against Bayern Munich (I play as Man Utd.)... I literally won the game on the final play during regulation with a cross from the right side that Van Nistelrooy headed home to win the match 3 - 2. Definitely not as dramatic as yours, but, like u said, once ur winning 2,3,4 - 0 all the time, it does get kinda boring.

In fact, currently in my 11th season, i have scored 65 goals and have only played 9 league games so far. In my FA Cup 2nd leg, i hammered West Brom 10 - 0 (agg 14 - 1) in an away match.

Side note, an awesome striker to buy would be G. Rossi... this guy is young and insanely talented and fast...

Van Nistelrooy retired with 280 total goals, Rooney is at 379 total goals (he is 31 years of age now) and G. Rossi is getting up there pretty fast.

this is prob a long read, but, im bored... i think after reading that dramatic finish in your cup final, i will go and play some more WE9.

Speaking of heroic finals I managed to replicate (without knowing) Liverpools Champions League campaign in 2005. The moments I had in my CL semis and Final that were exactly the same as in real life last season are marked as a *.

I had to play Chelsea in the semis* and I won that 1-0 on agg.* with the only goal coming at Anfield*, Cisse with the goal though, not Garcia.

The the Final, AC Milan*. It started badly, Pirlo scored a goal within the first few mins*(not sure if it was Pirlo who socred in real-life but it was an early goal just like the final). I didnt look at the team sheet but I did after the first goal and to my amazement Crespo was playing*. I checked after the game and it turns out AC had signed him.

[by now it was starting to get wierd]

Later on that half, Crespo scores a 2nd for AC* and shortly after that he scored another*. Theres one difference here I scored just before half time to make it 3-1.

Second half, and I get an early goal through Gerrard, a header*. Then moments later Xabi Alonso was pulled dpwn in the area. Penalty*. By now I had figured that I had to make this flow, so I changed the pk taker to Alonso. Dida saves it* but alonso follows up and bangs it into the net*.

[By now I was too amazed I had come back to realise this was a virtual repllica of the 2005 final.

The game stays 3-3 till extra time* when Pirlo misses a sitter* (it was Sheva in the proper final but pirlo missed this one with moments to spare)

Penalties. The order of Penalties was different to the final itself but Sheva had to score the last one to keep Milan in it*. Keeper saves*!!!

I was delighted to win but just after the game I realised what I had done and it was a complete fluke that I had replicated the final in Istanbul. That was when I jumped for joy.

nice way to replicate the Istanbul final...

after playing so many seasons (made a mistake in my last post, im currently in my 12th season, not 11th)... i have played Barcelona in the Champion's League final almost 5 times...

They seem to dominate the La Liga (they have won it 10 of 11 times, im sure they will make it 11 of 12 by the end of this season although Real Sociedad is currently leading the standings by 8 points since i sold Ferdinand a season before and Alan Smith last season to them) Real Madrid won the only time Barca did not (i wish there was a way to monitor other league games on a weekly basis like with what you can do with ur own league)

Bayern Munich dominates the Bundesliga winning it every season so far.

The Serie A seems to be the only league where there are different teams that have a chance, albeit, the main 4 are the usual ones, AC Milan, Juventus, AS Roma, and Inter... Udinese does give some pressure but has never really been able to maintain it down the stretch....

I also wish that we could monitor stats for every player and not just those in the top 20 for scoring and assists.... the only other time we can see player stats is when they retire....

but anyway... thats enough of me... tell me how long u have been playing ur leagues and some defining moments
