The 'Off Topic' football thread

A lot can be discussed from this. I'll give it a proper analysis tomorrow after my exam and Champions League games.

Edit: seems like this is from 2012. Nevertheless it still shows a general idea of what's happening.

Hey fellas. After two very tough weeks of illness and school work I can say I'm somewhat back. I haven't forgotten about the above pic, neither about Porto. While I don't post those things let me add some more useless graphs:

Jesus Christ this is a lot of money. Abramovich and Usmanov lose a combined ~1 billion pounds... since January 1st. 18 days. Just because oil prices are plummeting (which brings us to another discussion as to why petrol prices in Portugal remain the same as 1/2 years ago).

Not that this will change anything in the club's trasfer policy (certainly not with Arsenal's, they already spend next to nothing), but interesting nonetheless.

Interesting chart. It will be better if French league can be added.

One of the reasons I like Deeney so much is perfectly explained here. Truly a captain, and even more, a honorable player.

It's new-age football. A little touch and everyone goes rolling around.

To be fair, it's just handbags between everyone. I remember playing Sunday league - that wouldn't have happened. Everyone would have got laughed at. It's just one of those things.

The age we live in, everyone pushes, everyone rolls around, and it's 'see if we can get the other person sent off'. I don't really like it personally, and I'll be having a word with Paredes on our side.

Video of the incident. Pathetic reaction by Paredes, and Costa actually kept his calm.

13/05/2014. Leicester City's owner targets top-five finish in Premier League. Yeah right.

We want to stay in the EPL as long as possible,...

But we won't take the huge leap to challenge the league's top five clubs immediately. Do we have a chance to beat them? Yes, we have...

It will take a huge amount of money, possibly £180m, to get there. But that doesn't put us off. I am asking for three years and we'll be there.

They spent 1/6 of that and look where they are.

Source.

One of the most ridiculous situations ever. Stolen from here. If you have an online betting account safe to say you will bet all your money on a draw for this game. Just beware it's a U17 match, and starts at 14.00 GMT.

Tried to find markets for it but seems as if most bookies caught on and removed it! Finished 1-0 anyway.

Just won £200 on the City game. Placed £50 on both teams NOT to score in the 1st half which would have won me £9.90 plus my stake. Then bet £50 as soon as the match kicked off that both teams WOULD score in the 1st half at 5/1 where your stake would be returned if didn't win :cool2:
