You dont buy players in the shop anymore instead you play the cups in the Cup mode and when you win the tournament you unlock players. I won the America cup and unlocked Chilavert,Marcelo Salas,Claudio Lopez...
I have question related with gameplay. I play PES2008 on my PC. Is the gameplay on PC any different from that in the consoles?
I ask this because I'm being continuously frustrated by the game - but it seems I'm in a very small minority and maybe that's because I play it on PC. I have the following problems quite regularly:-
1) Simple and especially through passes going stray quite often.
2) Through passes going right where the player is at, instead of in front of him.
3) Player receiving the pass on the run, actually stops immediately instead of continuing to run with the ball.
4) My wingers are are more like defensive full-backs.
5) The above problem contributes in a lot of players often crowding in one area of of the pitch, and a lot of times I find I have no one pass to because of that.
etc etc.
Is there something wrong with the strategy? I just go to Simple Settings -> Attack & Player Condition to set my strategy.
Maybe I'm too used to PES 4 - it's the only other PES game i've played heaps and thoroughly enjoyed. I actually find PES 4 has better gameplay but I might be doing something wrong. Or is it, as I first asked, a PC-console thing?

1) i get u
2) the whole point of through balls is to run for them
to get the ball to the player u want, jus press the pass button
3) u can, all u do is tap the run button on your PC
4)in ur stratergy (eg - ps3 - you say when i press L2 and X the team will go into counter attack mode ) make it that when u press either the pass, long ball, through ball or shoot button ur team attacks on the wings
5) thats what pisses me off aswell
not much we can do about that
I need help please..urgently, when i install kitserver for PES2008 and then run the .exe, i get this:
"Unable to locate component" "This application has failed to start because d3dx9_27.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem"

Hi im looking to buy PES 2008 on Xbox 360 but just have a few questions I would like answered...
1) Can you edit teams and players?
2) Only 15 stadiums? can you unlock some more?
3) What exactly does the patch include? does it include more stadiums and licensed premier league kits and badges?
4) Do you have to be on Xbox Live to get the patch?

hello pes fans, i have a problem, a while ago i was a bit skint so had to sell a few games. Ihave been playing my mates copy (offline) but now that i am back online i cannot play pes online. Registration and so on, so my question is - can i retrieve my old registration code from anywhere? I know my old user name and password if that helps.

Questions about the network mode.
Hellow I'm new,
I recently purchased PES 08 for PC.
And started to play online.
I noticed that there is leagues in the online mode.
(division 1,2,3A,3B,3C)
I played 21 games and my ranking is 540.
How can i join to one of the leagues?

Inclusion in the leagues is automatic based on your ranking points. I can't remember how often it updates, but if you check back after a few days you should be in there somewhere

There are two errors in PES08[PS2] which i have observed.One is that when u play a single match and choose the home and away leg,the stadium and the kits remain unchanged in the second leg.And the second error is that when u turn off Hidden and Classic Players in the ML it doesn't get turned off.My friends too have the same problems in the game.If u guys too have the same problems then plz let me know.

Okay fixed my problem hence the edit. However in order to buy the classic players in the master league do I have to start a new master league with classic/hidden players on after I have unlocked them. Or will they appear like rookies during my already existing master league?

No development on saved ML teams in exhibition matches
Hi Singular. no, sadly it does not. This amazes me that on the PS3 you can't play your saved ML teams against your mates with development. On PS2 you can save "My team" that enables this but not so on PS3.

Hi arrenana93. This really really frustrates me. You do not appear to be able to play your saved ML teams against your mates WITH development. As you point out, on PS2 you can save "My team" that enables this but not so on PS3. This is the most important part of the game play for me and I can't believe its been lost on the PS3. If anyone knows something I'm missing, please letme know
u know in pes 5,6 etc there was a my best eleven to save ur player improvement for use in 2 player?????if u just save the ML/master league data u save the players without improvement--- so how do u save ur player improvement stats for use in 2player not online mode!!!
