I've just ended a terrific season as a CF for Manchester City..

I scored 79 goals in the entire season (50 in the premiere league, 24 in CL!)

Our team won the Premiere League and to top it all off, i scored an amazing hat-trick to give my team a 3-0 win in the CL finals against Arsenal!

My shoot acc. is currently at 86, shooting power at 89 and my tenacity at 90. I don't have to emphasize my player's goal scoring ability is very effective, however..

..a mere week after the CL finals, my national team competed in the world cup group stage. After the initial three games, we were knocked out by earning a single point. That fact alone doesn't bother me that much, as it's still been an awesome season, and my national team weren't really favorites..

..but what did bother me was that i haven't scored a single goal.

More than that, I've gotten a number of great opportunities and dealt quite well with most of them.. yet none of my shots went in!? Every single shot i cracked at goal either looked as if it was going in, only to somehow miss a few inches, or completely ignored my placement and went straight down the middle.. What the hell!?

It was painfully obvious the game was determined either i shouldn't score, or that my team shouldn't advance .. either way it was ridiculous and really made me question how much ''free will'' does the player actually have :erm:

Does this happen to others, or was it just an unfortunate coincidence and i'm just looking into things that don't exist?

It happens to me but not directly to my player. I sometimes notice that my teammates are horribly bad. For example, When i'm making an action over the flank, turn to the middle and give a perfect pass to the CA, sometimes he just shoot right to the corner flag, even when he faces the goal. It looks very weird and for some reason it only happens in importent matches, like last time in the international cup final.
Don't know the reason, I guess it's made to prevent that you can get a whole team on your own and win the CL with it.

Maybe you get better accuracy if you change the shoes, for me, it seems that when i wear the fast shoes (like adidas F50 or Nike's) i can't score an goal outside the box. But when i wear the blue (or purple) mizuno's i can score goals from 20 or 25 meters. (This is my first season, 17 yo stats for shooting somewhere mid 80's)
