If it really annoyed you in 12 then I do think it will do the same in 13.
Best case scenario, it will only slightly annoy you, only because the gameplay is so much better. The new defensive system gives a few more options to cut down super scripted attacks by ai in my opinion.
If it's that much of a game breaker for you tho, I would suggest renting it for a week to judge.

I don't use the word "cheating", I use "scripted".... because it doesn't technically "cheat" per se.
PES has always been slightly scripted for as long as I remember. Only thing is that now, it seems a lot more obvious (to me anyway). I can just spot every AI goal coming a mile away. Fifa is the same to be fair. It's frustrating, but if you buy PES, you just have to accept it. Have you played the demo? That'll give you a good indication to whether you think it's an acceptable amount of scripting.

On a general level, the 2013 demo is subtle in the scripting department compared to 2012 and 2011 going by exhibition matches.
The competition modes are always more riddled with that stuff, and I hope they've at least camouflaged it better than last few years. That's actually all I am asking, camouflage it so I don't notice it and I won't mind.
Based on the demo it seems it has been toned down a bit (still there). I agree that in 2012 it was noticeable and I knew when the AI was gonna score. However I remember the scripting was even worse when you played in ML, so we'll have to wait until the game comes out.
Although, if you are playing in PC, there are some tools that help with this matter. I even got one tool to remove scripting from for the demo and made it more enjoyable.

Maybe, but doesn't change the fact that I can still spot it easily. I can't remember a time on the PES demo where I was surprised the AI scored against me! Don't get me wrong, I'm not boasting about it.... I'd rather I didn't see it because it ruins my enjoyment of the game significantly.

I don't think you're boasting Ali, we could all tell when the AI was going to score in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
After several matches on PES2013 (12-13 10 minute matches) I have not yet conceded a single goal that I could "tell" would become a goal like that though. I've only conceded a few penalties, a FK goal and some obvious defensive mistakes which I am totally to blame for so far.
As for the game in general, it's top notch. This is definitely a huge leap forward for the game, and it has once again left FIFA in the dust unless some unreal ugliness is materializing deep into the competitions. The goal variation is excellent, the AI plays like a team and don't just rush forward and put inhuman pressure on me etc. Seems like they've listened to the community feedback for once, and ironed out most of the issues with 2012.
I thought the PC demo was quite nice, but the game feels much better. The pace of the game, the opponent AI, the keepers... everything is better tuned and works very well... like I said, when was the demo ever a good representation for PES? I bet the pes13 demo was just a tweaked version of 2012 with hardly any 2013 material in it, like a "hint" to the community of where they were trying to end up.
Personally, I'd rate it 9/10 and gameplay alone is 10/10 comparing to any football game I've ever played before. I wish I didn't have an exam tomorrow... I just want to play!

It doesn't technically "script" either. The use of the word "scripted" would suggest a predetermined outcome that it is impossible to deviate from.

Ok, young Matthew. Please explain to me how I can tell with 90-100% certainty when I'm gonna concede a goal?
There are some very obvious signs - passes going nowhere near where you aim, referees failing to award you a blatant free kick, your AI controlled teammates moving out of the way.

Your prophecy fufills itself because of your negative thinking, Ali. Today can be step one in your journey towards being a better player, ergo person.
actaully when you couldn't see it comming , you were so young and not as experienced with pes. the opponent is a video game just obeys some instructions. there is no problem with spotting those instruction but there is a big problem if you cant defend it.
