Am i the only one thats actually pleased defenders can catchup strikers?

many people have always complained about:

1. THROUGH BALLs ending in goals and others
2. about the speed of players with the ball and defender catching up.

Personally i dont think you can have it both ways since one situation (striker with ball) is usually consequence of the other (through ball).

If people dont like the defenders to be able to catch up, then the striker , or abunch of them (ronaldo , messi..group etc) are demi gods in the game.. and to condition the whole game for just a few players i think is a no no ..

if you play a good ball and time it so that the pass puts the attacker through on goal then you deserve the advantage, why should a defender turn into usain bolt to catch up? also like mentioned on other threads, if you control the attacker correctly you can stay ahead of the defender, and also consideration should be taken into how far the attack has remaining at dribble speed, cos the dribble speed is usually slower than that of the chasing defenders top speed, so its not all one sided anyway. and i am in no way at all in no respects whatsoever starting to like pes2014, especially when pes2013 is a far superior game and alot more enjoyable with freedom on the pitch.

Its also the heart feature that makes player react by responding quickly.I love PES14 as it is right now.

All the noobs who spammed throughballs all the time on 3 bar pass support are mad that their cheap tactic is not effective anymore.lol

i've read a lot about this but haven't really noticed it since i rarely play with team that have fowards known for their speed. can you get in front of the defender when you double tap the run button to do that quick dash they do or is the same?

There is another side to this problem: Players sometimes accelerate unnaturally when chasing through balls.

Would be nice if players just stick to their stats: acceleration, speed, dribble, etc.

People might not like it, but I really love it and I will tell you why.

When the defender catches up with me as a striker, I just push the right stick up or down based on which side the defender is. This will push the defender over and I will continue with the ball and score. I really like this feature.

Its all there folks, in the training sessions.

Its does come to mind that so called "catch-up bug" maybe a last moment thing they put into the game becuase evrything seems to be done in a hurry. Ai tactics are awfull :ninja:

last four defenders on the halfway line against another 4 strikers... 3 meters away

If it werent for this "bug" i think the game would be "through pass" paradise.

plus the way the striker, "goes slower", he actually stumbles,stumbles ,stumbles nod very pleasing for the eye...

ah yes! the double tapping-double tapping-double tapping allows you speed away from the defender,

it kinda like the cobination of RT and RB sprinting. you loose control so not to loose all your speed. Actually i think this i great cus it simplifies (two buttons to one) and is very reasonable! i like it alot...cheers! the down side is now through ball adventure is back... :( its not as easy as before though

i dont like but, i like using it if its available :\

so its buu and hurray at the sametime for me (as i said you cant have it both ways, cus i actually liked this "fictional bug" like catch-up feature) :unsure:
