Why not develop a better one yerself is all I can say...

None of us are claiming to be capable of creating a game and as players we are fully entitled.to criticise a game when it doesn't meet our standards. It is the same with movies, tv programmes, other products we buy. PES is not a holy thing we cannot criticise, deal with it.

I can't recall your previous posts so I'm not going to claim you're a fanboy or anything like that. You just aren't helping the cause of PES with a post like your one above.

I want Konami to produce a better game than EA do but if they don't, I'll play FIFA (if I deem it good enough). It is the same with many users on here and hopefully our criticisms will be listened to in order for Konami to once again produce the quality game a number of us feel has been missing for a while.

This year I consider FIFA to be an excellent product (but not faultless), will play it and will enjoy it. I occasionally find Manager Mode a tad boring in a way I never have with PES' Master League but the overall PES package isn't up to scratch and I gave it a fair chance.

I have to say Shaun that without a doubt as much as you say otherwise, you are one of the most biased Pes fanboys, if thats what you want to call it, i have ever read in these forums.

You try and disguise it by being diplomatic but when push comes to shove your true colours are revealed. For weeks you were harping on about judging the full game when its released. Now its released and being judged, and like Don Sweeny correctly states its being judged fairly on the fact it isnt very good, people dont like it.

Whenever a review has been published people have been quick to dismiss them. Biased you call them, on EA's payroll you say, i've never believed them anyway because of this or that in the past.

You have to face up to reality. Regardless of whetehr YOU enjoy t or not in the eyes of teh world its a flawed, average game that needs a revamp. If it doesnt get it then i fear for its furure as it loses more and more people every year and regardless of whether you like Fifa or not its making great strides and has a lot of scope for its future.

Ive read your posts, thats how i came to my conclusion. Its not simply a case if you like Fifa play Fifa or if you like Pes play Pes, i want to play Pes just not this inferior version of it.

And Lies what Lies? state the lies ive told. Did you or did you not say judge the game when its out? Do you deny or dont you deny that you constantly flip around this forum in defence of the game?

Just read both Fifa and Pes reviews in PCgamer. Both games have not improved much from previous games. I was hoping Pes would get a good review. But it still has to make a playable game like they have done in previous years.

Appears the scripting is still higly visible. Commentary is rubbish. Just about the only thing they have improved is the graphics.

Fifa on the PC has graphics that would be at home on a PS2? WTF?

I think I'll stay with PES 2009 for the time being. I just don't like the Fifa gameplay. But when will the makers of PES listen to their customers/fans?
How can the games testers miss the obvious flaws? Or do they just think people will buy the game blindly?

WHoever doesnt like the game just dont play it. Its so simple. Both games are out now....play the one you like. If you like FIFA then why are you on here trying to justify your switch of games?

This thread is ridiculous.

I haven't played Fifa this year and don't intend to buy it as I've never really been a fan, even of the supposedly great 09. I'm sure I'll play it at a friend's house at some point. I do, however, have PES and am enjoying playing it greatly. Yes it has flaws but games always will. People have different opinions about what they want games to be. Some want a realistic simulation of football, while some believe that would be boring and want high energy end-to-end action. I'm sure figuring out the mixture is very difficult.

Elements such as the commentary, the graphics and the modes available (ie, the non-gameplay elements) are always going to be received differently by some. I personally hate the switch from the hexagon to the single number but I'm sure some prefer it that way.

I think overall my point is that nobody is forcing you to buy either of the games and if you prefer PES 6 or FIFA 09 or whichever old game (FIFA 98 was a classic), then go play it. Getting irate as if Konami and EA owe you a perfect game is stupid.

My problem with this years pro evo is that they've obviously tried to make it more like FIFA after years of criticism, thereby destroying what makes its Pro Evo in the first place.

By trying to encapsulate 'Realism' (which lets be honest is monopolised by FIFA andhas been for many years) they have removed the charming gameplay that was unique to all pro evo games. It might not have been exactly like watching Bolton vs Hull on Sky, but it is was damn sight more enjoyable.

Now I'm left with a poor mans FIFA and the question:- Is this the end of my favourite ever game series?

I haven't been as excited to play PES this year as I used to be, there are just so many better games out there. Uncharted 2 has been keeping me busy, and soon FM2010 and COD will make my PES time less and less...

It is not exactly rocket science to understand that the thread falls off the face of your world if you simply ignore it. Stick to threads that ignore the faults and big up the (minor) improvements if you cannot handle reading about the former without going into meltdown.

FIFA was slagged off mercilessly when it was an arcade game and it deserved to be. PES is now the arcade game but suddenly that's fine because it would mean criticising the holy grail otherwise. That is also what is unfair.

Spot on. PES is now more of an arcade experience than it is a simulation. It has been this way since PES 2008. FIFA now better represents a football simulation. There is no dispute to be had about this, not in my opinion. This does not mean that PES can no longer be enjoyable, nor that it can no longer be classed as a good game by those who prefer it. But there is no dispute that PES has became very arcade like, while FIFA has made massive strides to become a strong simulation.

I'm glad the vast majority of users in these sections are actually able to hold decent debates and discussions where posts are replied to in a decent manner without stupid statements like those made by proevofan88 and a handful of others who are unable to accept any criticism of the game they appear to go to bed with each evening. At least I'm making concrete points which others are able to appreciate due to their own experiences whilst clearly displaying they hold no blind loyalty to a game.
