I dont agree with you fully, maybe i could say that Pes has concentrated alot on the graphics to the extent where they have not GREATLEY improved the gameplay, but without adoubt pes still has the best core gameplay for a number of reasons, Compared to fifa that is, so i wouldnt say gameplay has been sacraficed entirley, it just could be improved, but if you want a football game that is out now, there is only one choice for me.

To this day i cant understand why anyone in there right mind would choose fifa over Pes, as if you dont like pes...Fair enough, but then fifa must be enough to commit suicide over.

Fifa 03 and 04 were brilliant then it rapidly went down hill from then on!

Pes itself took a big dip with the shit that was 08 and 09 but never at one point was the core gameplay worse than fifas IMO and now i think that it is back to its glory. (with room for improvement)

I had it on PC. Couldn't find any hardware reasons at all for the ridiculous pace especially as I've had no issues with any of the previous games in the PES series since it came to PC.

Fair enough maybe there just is a gameplay difference in Ps3/360 and Pc?

If you're having speed troubles on the PC, it might be that the graphics quality is set too low.

When you put your disc in, click on "Settings" once it's auto-run (if it hasn't auto-run, go to "My Computer", right-click on your DVD Drive, select "Open" and then select "settings". Once in settings, change the graphics quality to "High" (or "Medium" if the high setting causes too much slowdown).

If it's already at its highest setting, then I can't help you, seen as I have no issues with it being too fast meself. I could say that it could just be down to personal taste, but that could end up keeping a can of worms open. I'm not gonna bang on about which is better or more arcadey or whatever (there's enough point-scorers on the internet as it is), but I enjoyed this year's PES, and that's all I can ask for, really.

i actually quite like Inter and their style of play. I think someones a bitter that Inter have been absoloutely dominating the Serie A and at the moment it doesent look like AC can do much to change this (considering their form in the league this season has been a bit ordinary).

it is the above quoute that started the scuffle between you and proevofan and he had every right to blast you.

i suggest you give the ban stick a break and consider what people have to say instead of starting such arguements or at the very least consider what team they support...

You know, I've been rather meticulous when criticizing PES, and yet like most people; I have ignored a very obvious thing for many years now.

PES and FIFA cannot improve much further because the 10 Minute Approach cannot handle anymore substance. It's like trying to fit 5 friends on a two seater; impossible!

These "simulations" are meant to be played at 5 minutes per half, any longer than that and the game becomes a joke. So it's pretty much quantity over quality.

It's so obvious, Football is all about TIME and space after all. Therefore if 90 minutes of actions are diminished, just enough so that we can have a "realistic" and playable 10 minute simulation; it was only a matter of time.

The newest offerings are just more of the same; an addictive hook with little to no substance at its core. Like bad but catchy music; soul-less in every conceivable way.

From my personal point of view, I have grown bored of these so-called simulations; PES did not evolved along with long-time customers, and FIFA is ca$hing-in now with the same old trick.

I mean, why waste more of my time supporting something that cannot improve much further or enough to justify my economic support?

I really really hope that things change sooner rather than later... but I'm not wasting another $50 on yet another "realistic" or "arcadey" 10 Minute Simulation.

So yeah, I do agree with Tech when he says "tragic year for football games". Although for me it's more like "tragic era for football games".

Except my graphics quality was set to the highest possible at 1680x1050 which is the way I play all games unless they force me to lower the quality slightly on things.

I categorically should not have to change anything to play a game that is supposed to be coded correctly like all others.

You know nothing about me then do you? They had to concoct the specific details of a match-fixing scandal to keep themselves out of it with their friends (proven) at Telecom Italia Mobile. The only reason they are doing well in Serie A is because when they too should have been punished they used as many underhand tactics as Juventus ever did to punish all of their rivals bar the one they felt they could easily control and out-spend - Roma. I'm not bitter about other clubs' success and you clearly haven't paid attention to even one of my thousands of posts about Milan let alone Serie A.

Are you stupid? I clearly stated what his ban was for and it wasn't the team he supports. If he is unable to keep control of his emotions online that isn't my problem, it is his own. Who are you to tell me how I should warrant bookings and rules breakings on this forum? I'll take advice from one of the other admins or even someone who is giving a valid point which in this instance is not you.

See that's interesting. According to long-standing members here if I left this site there would be big problems. I'm not saying I agree with them but that's the general feeling. Admins are free to degrade and swear at will especially in the face of specific behaviour. We do need to set an example and I do that enough in my time here as it is. If you don't see that, the problem is yours.

Can't believe this thread is still alive lol. Well said Amateur. I agree that the 10min model is holding the genre back. Don't think 45min half would work either but 20min seems fair. Would love to see some experimentation from the big 2 for the next installment or maybe even a new player in the future.

I partially agree with the thread starter, but would not use such a strong language tho.

The game isn't worse than last year, but one would think that both fifa and pes would be better in 2009 than what they really are.

Both franchises are taking baby steps and is more or less selling us an old game in a new package.
A few GFX updates and a new user interface can't hide the fact that they have both kept 99% of their weaknesses and fucused too much on the visual experience.
A visual experience that is far below what you would expect in 2009, but I must admit that I don't really care about GFX as long as it isn't butt ugly.

GFX wise both games are good enough in my eyes, so next year i'd like to see they both ignore that departement and focus solely on improving the gameplay / AI because it has been done a poor job in that dept. for a few years now.

Did you not read Tech_Skill's comment about downsyndrome? Read the whole thread before you make yourself look silly. Go and read our forum rules as well as you appear to be unaware of those. If you were, you'd see precisely how I haven't broken any AND though I provoked one member, he was stupid enough to take it as I said he would be. People have tried to provoke me in response and not managed it. Simple, really.

We can turn this thread into something about me if you want but it isn't going to stay open very long if you do, not because its about me but because it serves no purpose with regards PES.

This thread got out of hand the moment certain people were unable to accept completely justified criticism of the game and found themselves unable to hold a decent debate or discussion about it. Tech_Skill didn't help himself but in his first post you could look past some of his comments in order to debate what he was claiming.

The main reason this is still open is because Tech_Skill's ban is nearly over and I'm sure he'll appreciate the chance to respond to people - hopefully without losing his head.

I didn't say I was faultless at any stage did I? Why do people only read what they want to? I don't need to look in a mirror in relation to the intelligence of anyone on here so you can keep such instructions to yourself.

There are clear things which he did, unable to control himself, which I did not and if he cannot handle himself properly then he has issues in his life he needs to sort out. If I had done those things then yes you would have a very good point and I couldn't say anything.

this is possibly the only thread i've ever read from start to finish-i think tech had some excellent points he just put them across badly or should i say the way we would tell our mates in our homes or on the street-which i understand isnt good for a forum
because i have a young son i buy both games pes and fifa,and i have played all pro evo's like most people ,but this year i find myself going back to fifa for the first time ever. there are faults in fifa that i can see but i still find myself going back to it. what i do find strange is that i am a big champions league fan but have found myself playing premier league on fifa all the time. i think that pes plays good but something keeps me going back to fifa. i am starting to think that my deep love for pes isnt allowing me to say that it just hasnt evolved enough and is slowly dying.
too be honest if both games were identical gameplay and graphics wise i would buy pes as i think the editing has always been a big part of my fascination with the game and maybe it just isnt enough anymore?

or you could see it like this- pes is pamela anderson-once very hot now getting a bit old

fifa is megan fox-the new hot kid -not quite red hot but getting there

i just feel that my years of devotion to pes is affecting my judgement- yes its a good game, but by now it should be a stunning game- and it isnt
i will continue too play both and it might grow on me,we will see
