Training Match Help

Recently picked up PES 2010, my first in the series since WI8. Loving it so far. I decided to get BAL a whirl, scoring and assisting one in my scout match. Signed on with Lorient in Ligue 1.

I'm halfway through my first season and have had one A Squad training match and that's it. I can't seemt o buy more than a 6.0 ranking. I score a goal in a game... 6.0. My last match was two shots on goal, and I got a 5.5. What am I doing wrong?

And it's not helped by the fact that my teammates are pants-on-head mental. I maybe get one... possibly two legit scoring chances a match, with the possession almost always being 60-65% for the other training squad.

Can someone give a newbie to BAL some advice? I play CF, by the way. I know my stats are ass, but do I have to suffer through a whole season of training, or am I missing something? I can't hold possession to save my life, can't seem to wrestle the ball from others... ugh.

Please help... or my poor guy will never even see a single match before he retires, haha.

Honestly, the highest difficulties have a way of making your teammates incredibly stupid and your opponents super-men. You have to get used to it, that's it.

And I like to look at it this way; You're playing a 17 year old, fresh on the scene. It's supposed to be hard getting on the first team :p

But if it is too damn hard, I suggest you downgrade the difficulty to Regular and play with that until you've gotten the kinks of it. Regular is generally really easy and usually pretty equal in terms of how the opponents and your teammates behave (although the opponents have a hard time scoring).

You can always switch it up at the very last day of the season.

Oh and for the ratings, try and do as much as you can within your role (a striker is usually expected to score or atleast have shots on goal, a midfielder should generally have a good amount of completed passes - note that it's always best to try and stay in position and don't lose the ball). You could score a hattrick but still get a 6.5 if you never stayed in position, lost a lot of possessions and/or got a yellow/red card.
