Turned The Demo Off After 10 Mins

I haven't been bothered to play football games for a while and this demo 2 of PES 2013 reminds me exactly why. Flawed to the core. It's so fucking simple and I cannot believe that in 2012 in this era of technological advancement, Konami cannot achieve one simple thing......

Develop an A.I system in which teams are capable of playing in multiple different ways and challenging the user.

I download this demo and I'm quite looking forward to it, until it takes me about 5 mins to realise that AI teams play exactly the same whether its superstar or professional level.....the result........Big sigh, press start, return to menu, exit demo and probably delete and let me tell you, thank fuck my xbox doesnt have a recycle bin so I can think about resurrecting this shite.

Please someone tell me i'm missing out on some special menu option that makes teams play differently, because otherwise the game is pointless.

PES 2013 CPU AI in a nutshell : pass ball to AMF or CMF

Run Run Run Run Run Run, through ball to striker
Run Run Run Run Run cut back /cross

End game.

Also, the morons at Konami have yet again made an A.I where it completes about 90% of passes every game, put the game on a high level, the CPU barely misplaces one pass for fuck sakes.......this is basic football fundamentals here, they have done well to create system which means I misplace passes......that's what i've been asking for, for about 5 years, but the CPU AI still does near perfect through balls and passes every fucking time, not every team can play this way......alot of the time Konami, games are bitty and scrappy with teams struggling to string together world class triangles, let alone every team in the game being able to do it.

I think we're playing 2 different demos.

Really, so i'm fucking sitting here dreaming this shit then..................

Didn't think so.

There is no way on this earth that AI is Multi Dimensional.

It got to the point where I spent about 2 game giving them the ball repeatedly to see what attacks they could score with, it was the SAME two moves every single time.

Play Barcelona, the CPU AI plays NOTHING LIKE barca and play Juventus and tell me there is a change in tactics from the CPU AI.

When you play Barca, you are playing the CPU AI in a barcelona kit, same fucking game over and over, its like me putting on a fucking Man U shirt with Van Persie and then switching to a QPR Joey Barton shirt, different shirt.........but the same fucking player underneath and a shit one at that too.

I've not played the new demo but the opponent AI would make plenty of misplaced passes in the first demo on Superstar.

Considering you couldn't even post this in the feedback thread where it belongs then It wouldn't surprise me if your dreaming this shit ;)

But.............That aside. I have played like 10 games today against most of the teams and the difference in how they play seem fairly obvious to me. Barca plays different to Milan and United for example.

Even playing against the same team a couple of times in Boca Juniors they play similar but not the same all the time.

As I said, seems we're playing different demos and there is no reason to get shirty over it.

Yeah, I played on Superstar level on the 1st demo and when applying pressure to the AI they not only lumped the ball up the pitch to alleviate the pressure on multiple occasions, but they also misplaced passes out of defence. I scored a goal last night that way, applied pressure AI passed into central midfield quickly, straight to Pirlo, I scored.

Deluded.

Mark my words, after the game has been released and everyone has got over the honeymoon period they will see this.

Simple test, give the ball away to the CPU and back off them, all they will do is give it to a AMF and he will run run run run looking for a throughball or down the wing.

Don't actually try to play the CPU or get caught up in how well the game plays when YOU have the ball, give it away over and over and then tell me these amazing attacks the CPU does.

You played the demo for 10 minutes but you managed to use all the teams and could form an opinion that all the teams play the same?

Not every single one, tell me, which teams play different and how exactly.

I will fire up the XBOX right now and test right away.

Pick any teams, superstar level, tell me the differences between the way the teams play and i'll check.

Don't forget to give me your address so I can invoice you for the 10-20mins I am going to waste on a pointless exercise.

Boca Juniors as the muppet above suggested? Apparently they play very much different

I'll try to get the pass completion stats for the CPU also........*sniggers*

Yes cause going by your posts thus far you really are going to come back and give an honest account of your findings. Assuming you even play it and don't let the CPU play by it's self;)

Playing Boca Juniors right now.

Same game as before, CPU being very direct, no patient possession football, then get the ball, maybe two passes before it's run run run run- looking for through ball, or run run run run down wing and cross.

They seem to try and make no more than 4/5 passes before getting into my box, they had the ball at kick off, 3 passes before it got to riqueleme............run run run run run, through ball.

The only way this would even remotely look realistic is if I actually went out of my way to harass the cpu and clatter them off the ball, which is not how all teams play.....left to their own devices, they are extremeley limited.

Barca did EXACTLY this btw, get the ball to iniesta or sanchez and run run run run, no build up at all.

All the strikers seem to do is wait on the shoulder looking for the throughball, but maybe I'll reserve final judgement on them till after a few more games.

If the AMF or CMF has that much room to run in front of them, you are doing something wrong. And if they have that much room, their first option should be a through ball to the strikers or wingers. Why don't you try pressuring the guy with the ball?

Boca Juniors: 81% pass completion....................

I pressure them, without trying to get the ball off them, basically, the game only looks anything like a real game of football if YOU decide to run after the CPU like a headless chicken knocking them off the ball at every turn, that's how the game works, you are the one creating the illusion that there is actually somekind of intellegent game going on. once you step back, and let the CPU play a bit, it's pretty obvious there are 3/4 patterns of attack it has and that's about it.

The pass completion ratio is pathetic also, perfect crossing, perfect passing nearly every time.

Nothing like a proper game.

If you sit back and let them play, of course they are going to have a high pass completion percentage. You are not trying to steal the ball...

Edit: I'm going to play a game now though and focus on how the cpu attacks.

He's got a point. From what I've seen, the CPU play too direct but that may vary with time - 5mins makes the game more rushed so in the final game that could be altered

Yes I know that BUT, what I am looking for is UNFORCED ERRORS, when the CPU passes, look for passes that dont get completed Because they are not directed correctly.

What you are going to find is that the CPU tends not to complete passes because you get in the way of the pass and intercept it, basically, the passes are nearly always on target, its up to you to intercept it, if you dont, it will complete.

That's not how football works, and Konami still havent caught onto this.

I just played two more games against Barca and Man U, and I do somewhat see what you are saying. The CPU's attack is very direct and it only takes about 2-3 passes before they get to the box. They did pass the ball back and square a few times but mostly it was just a straight forward attack. I don't remember if pes 2012 is like this.

Told ya.

I worked it out in about 30 seconds, and its the reason I can't be bothered to play anymore of this game.
