Virtual Pro Overall Question

I always get messages from people that are either looking for players or looking for clubs and they always say that your player should be over 85 etc. I decided to check my overall but I am not sure what it really is.

I was set on PSG as LM. My overall was 81. When I play for PSG, their formation doesn't have LM so I am usually LDM by default so I thought it might have something to do with my position. So I changed my position to LAM (which PSG's formation has) and again, my overall was 81. So I decided to change clubs to Barcelona. My overall was not 86. So I tried going to a shit team to see if my overall would be affected. Again, it was 86. So finally I decided to change my team back to PSG to see if it would be affected again. It was but instead of going to 81, it went up to 88.

What's the best way to check your virtual pro's overall for a certain position?

What's the best way to check your virtual pro's overall for a certain position?

If you put your player on the substitutes bench it will display his highest overall for the position you have selected as his preferred position. It will always reduce the further you move the player from his preferred position on the pitch.

Alternatively, you can start a manager mode with a team with which your virtual pro isn't registered, there will be a screen asking whether you want to add your virtual pro to the team which tells you his overall.

If you go to the My Skills and Stats option in the virtual pro menu it tells you a lot of information but can be misleading as it includes form as well as your base overall.
