Okay first of all, I just want to make it very clear that I by no means am whining or really complaining all that much. I just wanted to point out a few things that I've noticed in my playing that leaves me scratching my head a bit.
First, this is the Japanese 360 version of WE 10. I go back to playing ISS Pro evolution back on the ps1 days, so i have plenty of experience with the game. I play on the hardest difficulty since it gives the best challenge and it's the only level i'm not certain to win on each game.
However, I have noticed a few things that leave me wondering something. Does the hardest level just give boosts to the cpu instead of making it actually play smarter football?
1. I've noticed that on the hardest level, loose balls almost always find their way to a cpu player. It could be a rebound, cleared ball, deflection, or even loose ball. Regardless of where I am on the pitch, the ball 99% of the time finds it way right to a cpu player.
i'll give a few examples.
-cpu takes a shot. Deflects off of someone or is saved. Ball lands RIGHT to another cpu player. Only time i can get the ball would be a deflection off of me which will result in a corner. Its extremely extremely rare that the ball will get to any of my players where they can settle it
-cpu tries to cross the ball into the box and i try to head it out. 99% of the time it always goes to one of their players regardless of where i try to head the ball. What i mean is i can head out the corner kick or cross, but my header will almost always go to another cpu player.
-human controlled player tries to clear the ball far. No matter where i clear the ball, it will go to a cpu defender.
-cpu has the ball, and human controlled player challenges and intercepts the pass. However, 99% of the time even when intercepted, the ball somehow finds its way back to the cpu player.
Those are just a few examples of things I've noticed. If i then go down to the second hardest level, all of those things disappear. However, that level seems a bit too easy most of the time. Regardless though, it seems to me that on the hardest level, the cpu is given a boost in some ways towards statistical situations (lets say 50/50 balls no longer and 50/50 balls) and whatever luck in free ball movement is swayed heavily in the cpu's favor so that it's more like they have a 90% success rate of any free ball, deflection, rebound, etc.
I wa just wondering what others thought of my thinking? I know this sounds like whining, and i know i'll get the unavoidable (no dude/mate/pal, you just suck/lost so suck it up" but it's not really about that. I like the challenge but i feel that instead on increasing the football smarts to the cpu, the only difference between the second and hardest levels would be this weird boost to allow the cpu players a much higher success rate % to those kinds of situations. I almost never see a ball drop into any free space off of clearances, rebounds, or deflections. That just can't be a coincidence in over 200 cpu played games..
Thanks for listening everyone.
