Assassin's Creed 3 is a bit of a chore. I'm glad I didn't play for this game. Can't even be bothered doing any of the side quests, they're all boring. Just a case of "go here watch cutscene, press circle to do something". Stealth is crap and pointless, AI is poor. There's also silly things like sending people to do trades, which I just haven't bothered with at all. I'm sure you can probably buy weapons, I haven't bothered doing that. I'm at the point where I just want to do the main quest and be done with it.
I'm sure Bammers05 will disagree with me.

I don't completely disagree with you. I didn't think the game was anywhere near the standard of the previous Assassin's Creed games. I think they took an easy option by setting it in the American revolution and they got bored of it quickly, hence why the ending feels rushed and they go through all the historically important events of the war, just so they were in there, at the cost of a compelling narrative plot. They were clearly trying to make Connor this neutral person, who just happened to side with the Americans at times, but didn't really like them, but that doesn't work for me. I also don't like having to start as Kenway and then re-start as Connor - at least they were trying something new and trying to put you in the shoes of the enemy, but it didn't really come off for me, as it felt like starting the game, then abruptly stopping and having to re-start all over again. I also would've liked to spend a lot more time as Desmond outside the animus, doing missions and stuff.

Having said that, the add-on they released - 'the madness of King Washington' is a lot better and worth playing (and less chained down by historical accuracy). I also enjoyed the sailing missions and the re-building the homestead missions.

ACIII was another game that I bought, played for a couple of hours then decided I just couldn't be arsed (TLoU is another)

Finished the main 5 worlds of Rayman Legends and done all the time trial/invasion paintings, they're probably my favourite part. Daily challenges keep me coming back, and i've got 30 odd Return to Origin Levels and a couple final 8bit song levels left, but I can definitely see me trying to platinum this.

Batman Arkham Asylum

Holy fuck this game is awesome. Just heading to The Botanical gardens, so I think i'm about half way through. Combat is great and gameplay feels like a 3D Metroid game.

Guacamalee!

Beautifuly animated with colourful 2D visuals that look great on the Vita OLED screen. Great combat with gameplay that is clearly an hommage to Super Metroid, especially the Chozo statues!. A likeable cast of characters and some funny dialogue and great references to other games such as things like this

Are you gonna give Arkham City another try when you've finished? Because it is a better game IMO.

Dunno, I put a good 4 hours in to City and it didnt grab me, I didnt like the large, open world element of it. AA has a really well constructed if much smaller world.

Someone from work lent me Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga so I gave it a go earlier today and it's great fun. It's like an old school PS2 style game or perhaps even earlier with a fixed, dodgy camera angle which takes a bit of time getting used to again. They've done a great job recreating the classic scenes from the movies and I look forward to working my way through all the levels as I'm only a few levels through Episode I at the moment.

Portal 2

What an amazing game. Valve are one of the few developers (alongside Naughty Dog) from which I can expect a quality game marvelled with an excellent script. The writing in this game is top notch! The music is also superb.

Still haven't finished it, but I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying it. This is coming from someone who almost exclusively plays shooters. Best platforming game I have played.

Dota 2

Excellent free 5v5 multi player game, I tried recruiting a few people on here but there wasn't any interest shown what so ever. Anyways, it's not my loss.

Dundon's, you got Steam? I haven't played Dota 2 but I'll be willing to try it out with ya.

I have Steam yeah and Dota but to be honest I've kind of parked that game up for a bit, at the moment now it's GTA and then GTA followed with a small bit of Fifa 14, then GTA again.

You're best off getting a bang off it yourself for the time being and trying to get used to it, there's a bit in it in terms of getting used to the items and characters but by God is it some game. My advice is not to go straight into a competitive match rather got up against some Bots.

Finished Guacamelee! It was a great game but disappointed at how short it was, think it took me just over five hours.

Currently playing Persona 4 Golden on the Vita, it's quite enjoyable and looks great.

Sold Persona 4. Was extremely repetitive and too imbued with too many faggy anime tropes that meant even I got a bit sick of it. Moved on to the following:

Muramasa

Beautiful game with slick animation and frantic fights.

Lone Survivor

Atmospheric and gritty pixel survival horror.

Limbo - played it a while go on a mate's Xbox, but I've actually forgotten most of it. Wonderful game.

Hotline Miami - Die, try again, die, try again.... rinse and repeat about 20 times.... finally beat level.... rejoice! Fun game but I'm a bit shit at it.

Lone Survivor

Atmospheric and gritty pixel survival horror.

Highly recommended then?

Phatmann - what do you make of Beyond?

In Limbo i'm at the point where magnets start coming in to play, think it's Chapter 21 so not long left.

With Lone Survivor i'd definitely recommend it. Great sound and very much like the original Silent Hill in terms of the atmosphere.

As soon as you start playing it you are reminded of Heavy Rain. Plenty of quick time events, controls can be a bit dodgy and the game at times feels more like an interactive movie. If you weren't a fan of Heavy Rain then you wouldn't like this game.

The story seems very interesting so far and I can only imagine it will become more engrossing as I move on. The narrative is nonlinear so the story is pieced together in bits all over the place and so far this seems to be working well. I also like the fact that all of the trophies are hidden.

Some of the negative reviews (and negative points in good reviews) seem to suggest that you don't really have much say in the story, that your more of a passenger. Does it feel that way when you're playing it, or do you feel that there's a lot of choice?
In the demo scene with young Jodie in a test room (guessing the cards picked by a woman in a neighbouring room). The scientists ask you a couple of questions, you can reply "yes", or "shrug"... both replies give the same response from the scientist.

It feels like you are offered a lot of choice but I'd have to look at some walkthroughs to see what happens when you select other options. The bit with the scientist is only a minor scene establishing the relationship between the two characters. He is asking a list of questions to check your response so it wouldn't make sense for him to alter his responses.

For anyone that's finished Hotline Miami, without giving away any spoilers.... does the story ever start to make any sense?

Just finished Escape Plan and the first two DLC packs for it, Bakukis lair and Asylum. One of the best Vita games I have played. I attempted it first time last year but got stuck but have gone through it from the beginning again and loved every minute of it. Great artwork, good atmosphere and full of charm. I might buy the last two DLC packs soon (I got the others free when they were first released, asylum is now chargeable).

This will be getting cross buy support with the PS4, in full 1080p with dualshock controls, so when people start getting the console I really do suggest you give this a go, it's a rather amazing game.
