Muramasa Rebirth

I think this is my Game of The Year. 2D Action RPG on the Vita set in shogunate Japan. Slick visuals, great combat and addictive gameplay.

Simple yet masterfully created puzzle game. Love the music and narration, and the minimalist design is superb.

That's weird because I've just started playing this again this weekend. I'm up to level 9.6 which looks like a killer, will take a while to get through. Danny Wallace's narration and the music take the game to another level.

Been playing it on my vita whenever i have a few minutes. Think Im up to world 8.something. I agree, Wallace really gives the game some character and the individual blocks personalities are great.

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy

Playing this on my Vita, never played it before and it's rather fantastic. Hard to believe naughty Dog went from this to the likes of The Last of Us.

Platinumed Jak and Daxter, brilliantly enjoyable game. Started Jak 2 and it's gone all angsty and "grimdark and cool"

Also, how the fuck did I miss the Vita Lego Lord of the Rings back in August

Beyond: Two Souls

I completed it last night and will probably play through the ending a couple more times and will also play through the whole game again one day. I'd highly recommend the game to anyone who was thinking about getting it, especially if you've played and enjoyed Heavy Rain. I won't go into the story too much but the best chapters for me were Homeless and Navajo.

Next up for me is probably Arkham Origins.

Lego Lord of the Rings

I don't know if it was the source material that hooked me or the Lego gameplay but I couldn't put this down. Even at only ten hours there was Plenty to collect, the game was full of charm and most of all fun to play. I look forward to Lego The Hobbit.

Been toying with the idea of Lego Marvel if/when I pick up a PS4 next month but again, unsure if it was LOTR i liked and not the Lego.

It is happening again
Skyrim

yup, after more than 600 hours... im still playing it

I'm sure Bammers05 can match that!

Thori, do you play Skyrim on the PC with all the mods, or just on a console?

Arkham: Origins

The game is very similar to the previous two games so it's still enjoyable to an extent. There are several characters in the game that I didn't come across in Asylum or City but most are rather generic or insignificant. The introduction of fast travel is a great help. It's a sort of hybrid of Assassin's Creed and some other game like Red Dead Redemption as you have to destroy comms towers to unlock the ability to transport to that area. However, it would've been nice to be able to fly the batwing ourselves to go between points rather than having a brief cutscene pop up but I suppose it's more fun swinging through the city anyway.

If you've played the previous two games this will be incredibly familiar as the setting is exactly the same as one of the two games with the likes of the GCPD, the Bowery, the Steel Mill etc. Also the combat is the same but that was one of my favourite aspects of the previous games so I see no reason to change it. The gadgets are largely the same with a few new additions and there are various side quests you come across as you'd expect.

A good example of how repetitive it can get is where I left off my game last night. As usual I am in a room sitting on a gargoyle waiting to take out a room full of armed guards while swinging frantically between the gargoyles to not get spotted. Unfortunately, during one of these moments earlier in the game a guard glitched into the wall which stopped me from being able to move ahead in the level. He was also the guy with the jammer signal so it took me a while to realise what happened as he was blocking my detective vision. Fortunately once I restarted the game it was only him left in the room unglitched.

The combat can be pretty tough at times and some of the boss fights are challenging but I don't mind that at all. If you enjoyed Arkham Asylum and City you'd probably enjoy this too but nowhere near as much.

Another commendable addition is the ability to play challenges using different batsuits i.e. the Adam West suit or Knightfall. You can also use these to play through the game again once you've completed the story once. I haven't tried online yet and I'm not in any hurry to check it out.

Sonic and Sega All-Star Racing Transformed

Playing this as a PS+ freebie on my Vita, cracking game so far. Varied courses, a good mix of different events to take part in during world tour and seemingly loads to unlock. Highly recommended.
