PES ain't anywhere near being dead, not while we have UEFA and Brazilian League. And FIFA is killing PES not because they sell more, but because they sign exclusivity contracts with whatever teams/leagues that force Konami to not even being able make offers to such teams/leagues.
I agree that EA has most of the exclusive contracts, but i believe the reason they are more popular is because they have done what many of us expected Konami to do.......evolve the game.
To me Fifa is what i expected Seabass and his idiots to do. Its still a half arsed game but the basics are good. More so, they have a fully functional online system. Forget licenses, I was playing PES without all that crap. The game play is what hooked me to PES. Today, Fifa has that gameplay and has created a very effective online system for fans around the world....even Portugal.
If both games could have the exact same resources available then it would be a fair fight, but this is just like the last round in a poker final: the player with more money controls the table. Here it's EA.
I don't want to ...but I have to agree. Fifa brings in millions just from Fifa. But PES was also charting very well at one point.
But instead of listening to its fans and
-Moving to an updated game engine.. earlier than Fifa did
-Investing in upgraded online servers..we complained early enough
-Employing a third party developer to help with innovative ideas for PES online game modes
-Adapting to our "Western" style of game presentation.
...they used the early profits to spend on shitty titles such as MGS, while promising us fans a better game ..get this .."Next Year" every year. (Hence the title of this thread)
So now they are Zombies walking around trying to eat the flesh of Fifa players. Blaming Fifa for their demise.
The truth about is that Seabass is the one who killed PES.
