Why is Real Madrid so awesome in this game?

WOW they're simply head and shoulders above every other team including Barca. They are vastly superior to everyone in every aspect of the game. Speed, quickness, tackling, pressure, defense, shooting, passing, running, winning 50/50 balls, they are deadly on corner kicks as their players jump better and quicker to get the headers. I think 95% of my losses online are to someone using Real, even when I dominate the ball possession and the shots on goal they always find a way to sneak a lousy goal in towards the end when my players are all tired to get one back. I wish Konami would patch this crap and allow ppl to quit when their opponent picks Real!

They have Ronaldo.

They have Higuain, Ozil, Kaka and Di Maria. Even if one of these attackers is on low form, you can bring on Benzema - who is world class on PES!

They have Xabi Alonso sitting in with Khedria - where you have the two Diarra's to come in.

They have a great back 5 too. Sergio Ramos, Casillas, Pepe, Carvalho and Marcelo are all class.

It is annoying that everyone picks them, there is quite a bit of luck in beating them too. Even if you're playing someone who isnt very good at the game (often the case with Madrid users), you can still get punished.

In real life, of course, Ramos is an absolutely appalling and utterly brainless defender, as is Marcelo (both are pretty good going forward, but on the rare occasions RM have to defend, they're abysmal), Pepe is nothing that special, and Carvalho is a very effective centre back but gains most of his advantage from being extremely good at fouling, shirt-tugging, handball etc, without being spotted by the ref - an art in itself but not something properly reproduced in a computer game. No argument on Casillas, he's great.

If you get Real Madrid on the back foot, you can beat them - problem is most teams can't. I'm not sure this is reflected in the game, where their defence is massively overrated.

ya Ramos is so quick, he catches up to anyone, no matter what he will catch up and take the ball away!

Its still better than the days of Barcelona being immense on Top Player AI yet you could always beat them easily.

The only reason why I can't stand Real in PES2011 is that they have shit boring kits and everyone on MLO plays as them.

I mean really, just because you picked Real doesn't mean your MLO team is going to ranked #1 online. Gets boring playing against the whites, might as well play against blank kits.

REAL MADRID ARE OVERRATED IN BOTH FIFA AND PES 11.
BUT, not overrated in terms of individuals.
In terms on indiividuals they're fine in both game and NOT OVERRATED.
However konami forgot to ADD A THING to the game.
You know what it is?
TEAMWORK.
EVERYTHING IS DEFINED BY THE INDIVIDUAL in football games, when in reality you need both the individual and the teamwork.
Real mardrid's weak point in reality is not the individuals. IT'S THE TEAMWORK and players not fully understanding each other.
So with that attribute of teamwork missing in all football games, REAL MADRID WILL ALWAYS BE OVERRATED.
They are overrated in fifa 10, pes 10, pes 11 ffia 11. etc...

precisely .

While both games let you use team work and play in a collective fashion (some years more or less) ... it has never been completely and well implemented in any game yet ...

So it's easy for individual qualities to shine and outshine everything .
Especially when the main difference between say barca and real ingames , are the amount of red stats , the size of the rosters , and the choice of formation .

The problem is even more apparent when you use an OF . Especially those adding the Bundesliga .

When those rate each individual's perf and skills properly , you ends up with a few smaller team that are easily as good as some of the best and biggest teams . I mean yeah wolfsburg have amazing players , that usually ends ups being snatched away by bigger clubs ..

However they shouldnt really be up to the level of a few star clubs , and yet they are . The results ingame contrasts with the reality .

I just can't understand why people outside Madrid (and even Spain) claim to be Madrid fans. Apart from the obvious fact that they're glory hunting arseholes. Madrid are just a team intent on buying success. I used to actually like Madrid back in the days of Raul and Hierro, but now I hate them with a passion. It doesn't help that they have Mourinho and Ronaldo (seriously... why do people like that arrogant c*nt?). If you're gonna glory support anyone, at least pick Barca, a team that do actually have morals.

Despite the complains , many people like the glamour of an all stars team .
And it's not as if Chelsea (at least at some point) , Barca , Bayern , didnt built their team too with usually an absurd amount of money , and trophies in sight , like city and real .

Real is my least favored team of that bunch , because of two factors :

-most individuals and their personality ...
- no recognizable playstyle .

I mean i can tell how chelsea tick and usually play , barca even more , etc ... but real ? Other than the mismach of stars and the direction set by each manager , i dunno .

And i can't really care for that .

I'm alright with people liking Madrid, but claiming it's their favourite team. It's like you have Pierre from France, who claims he loves Madrid. It annoys me when people pick them all the time online despite being fans of good teams. I saw a Utd fan who picked Madrid all the time, asked him why he doesn't pick Man U, he said because they're not very good on PES. Are you kidding me??
Also, in one of the lobbies, there was this (English) guy spouting all this BNP shit, ohhhhhhhh the irony that he picked Madrid all time :D
Bloody idiots!

Considering the kind of politics associated with Real Madrid, it sort of makes sense that a BNP dickhead would like them...

Because CR7 is omnipresent due to his physical and technical attributes, scores goals and also plays as a DMF, and if needed, as a 5th CB.

Last time I checked, CR7 plays SMF, AMF, WF, SS and CF.

Anyway, I agree, Real is only good in PES 2011 because their individual players are good. Their teamwork is also excellent because each player individually has excellent teamwork stats. Konami really should create an overall teamwork stats for the whole team, otherwise Real will just keep on being unrealistically strong.

I was being sarcastic about the DMF thing, but the fact remains, that fast players such as CR7 or Kun Aguero are unrealistically good at running all over the pitch and winning balls by using their speed and basically running you over.

The problem goes a lot more deeper than teamwork stats, the problem is a byproduct of how the left analogue stick functions: the sprint button does not serves its purpose without the assistance of the left analogue stick button.

This affects all the areas of the game: passing, dribbling, shooting, feinting, tackling, movement without the ball, etc.

This means that you cannot affect the direction in which you move INSIDE one space; you can only affect the direction in which you move from one space into another space.

Thus, fast players who can move faster from one space into another space, will be unrealistically good, giving the impression of omnipresence.

And players whom are very good at shielding the ball without running, or in other words, players whom are good at shielding the ball by moving INSIDE one space: are not as good as they should be, because it is impossible to affect the direction in which you move inside one space.

I think that a lot of tweaking with the stamina gauge could improve matters in this respect, because it could control or prevent the over usage of certain players; but at the same time, making the game more realistic in this respect will not make the game that much better.

I think that what really needs to be done, is to start making fundamental changes, instead of tweaking the same old game; otherwise, we will see more of the same flaws for years to come.

My God, do you have to turn every thread into a rant about the left analogue stick?! We get it! Give it a rest!

Lol Barca a team with Morals dont make me laugh they are just as bad as Real if not worse. The amount of play acting/Diving/dirty play is probably worse than real but because they are seen as not buying success they are forgiven.

They get the own players to speak up about other players that should be joining them just so they can get them on the cheap.

At least when Real Madrid want a player they put there money on the table and do whatever it takes to get him. Barca just bitch about having Barca DNA and how he should be playing for them just to try and wipe a few million off the fee.

This is all true - Barca are no better in terms of the way they behave. At least when Real Madrid poach other clubs' players they hand over sackfuls of cash in return, instead of being cheapskates. Besides, the whole point is that it's the duopoly that's turned La Liga from an awesome contest of the world's top footballers into a flashier version of the Scottish Premier League. Sure, you'd rather watch Villarreal than Hearts, but both those teams stand an equal chance of winning their respective leagues any time soon - i.e. zero. Makes it pretty boring, no? Most top European leagues are a bit like this, but none worse than Spain.

It's a big myth that Barcelona are some ultra-principled left wing workers co-operative while Real are just a nasty cheating capitalist enterprise. They're as bad as each other off the pitch. Sure, Barca have brought through a load of brilliant youth team players while Madrid have an idiot president who just tries to buy the league, but it's not like Barca wouldn't try to buy the league if they had to (and they have done just this in the past).

The only reasons I prefer Barca are 1. the way the play, 2. the fact that I know and love the city, and 3. the fact that they didn't spend most of the 20th century representing a fascist regime. Other than that, they're as bad as each other.
