Why won't PES 2013 play on my laptop even though it's an Nvidia GeForce 840?

The 840 is Mid-grade. Low, mid grade. You'd call the 850 Mid. Rates about 5 out of 10 at HD resolution.
So... now I gotta find a laptop with that mobile chipset....

Recommends are a dual core 2.6, and a NVidia 240. So... that laptop I just posted would meet the requirements with Turbo.
Without knowing what processor you are using, I can't say whether you meet that requirement.
You most likely meet all the rest.
