Winning Eleven 2010 is better than PES 2010

I've got World Soccer Winning Eleven 2010 for PS3. I already had PES 2010 but I bought WE 2010 because it is traditionally a better game and it also has the super star difficulty. Plus, our dear friend Yokoshinata has been canvassing for it. For those who might have questions about WE 2010 in comparison with PES 2010, I have made a quick FAQ:

Q: Is WE 2010 better than PES 2010?
A: Yes, it certainly is. Not by a great deal, but it is certainly better.

Q: Does it have menus in English or Japanese?
A: There is an option. For both menus and commentary language, you can choose either English or Japanese.

Q: Does WE 2010 plays faster than PES 2010?
A: No, it doesn't. It feels a bit more liberated which can make you think the game runs faster.

Q: Are the referees better?
A: No. Exactly the same referees.

Q: Are the keepers better?
A: YES! They are not just better, they're just brilliant. In 8 hours of WE 2010, so many diving saves and no fumbles so far.

Q: Does the AI play better?
A: Definitely yes. AI in WE 2010 is smarter and sharper. It plays well in attack as well as defence. Yes, I'm referring to the professional difficulty.

Q: Does it have new animations?
A: WE 2010 doesn't have new animations. But the animations have been touched up a bit. That's evident. The PES 2010 jerkiness is very less here.

Q: Is it the same graphics?
A: No. The graphics has been touched up as well. The lighting looks better. The bright sunshine near the goal area in day/afternoon matches is not there.

Q: Do you get option files for WE 2010?
A: I got a fantastic one from www.winningeleven.sg. It's based on the kit and emblem files of PES 2010 (Jackwhobra) option file and it's brilliant.

Q: What about chants?
A: Just create a new playlist called KONAMI_WE and copy and paste all the chants that you had in KONAMI_PES. The load from the game.

Q: Is WE 2010's superstar more difficult than PES 2010's top player?
A: Yes, of course it is more difficult. But for now, I'm sticking with professional. That's good enough challenge for me.

Q: Is it worth buying WE 2010 when you already have PES 2010?
A: if you're a pro evo freak, go get it. Others, don't, only because you may not appreciate the difference.

As we get more questions being answered, I'd add to the above list.

EDIT: The biggest difference is the PACE of the game. Winning Eleven is beautifully paced. The game simulates football like no other football titles have (including PES5 and PES6). Without giving the game a good go, I started tweaking the top speed, dribble speed and passing speed stats to slow the game down. I did that for quite a few teams. Then I realised that the tweaking wasn't helping. I went back to the original stats. I reset to original stats for all teams. Then started playing match after match using different teams. If anything, some of the stats need increases and not decreases.

I have upped the agility, balance and response values so the game can run smoothly. I then upped the aggression, teamwork and tenacity so that the AI can be more attacking. As far as the game speed is concerned I have not made any changes to stats.

Now the WE 2010 graphics are really eye-candy, the animations are so organic and lovely and now the AI beats me more often than not. I must say, this is the best football gaming experience I've had. I have a lot more to say but I'll say it later, in a dedicated post.

Maybe pes 2010 can have a gameplay update that matches we 2010. I hope so. It sounds really good. I think pes 2010 can have a gameplay update because all the things superior in we 2010 can be achieved with a patch from Konami. Here's hoping.

I dunno if its worth getting, id only get it for the superstar difficulty but i play on top player but the OP is on professinal which is easier, my GK has only made one error so far tbh n if the refs are the same then it just seems a little bit more polished than PES but only a fraction more

I already love PES but i dont think WE is any better from what ive read

^I guess we 2010 is an update over pes 2010 which makes the game more enjoyable and realistic. Small touches make a difference. I think in pes 2010 we may get an update to make the game match we 2010.

I doubt mate. The reason why WE and PES play differently is the understanding of Konami in terms what the Japanese market wants and the European market wants. I remember this change in the way the game plays is based on a market survey or research or analysis or something that Konami did and concluded 'this is what European customers would like' so let's give them a different game.

It is certainly worth getting mate. Read my latest additions to the OP. The beautiful game is here!

I find the pace ov the game to be fine, i can make it slower or faster depending on how i play and the AI pace aint too bad either maybe a bit too much passing for certain teams but its not game breaking

The AI still attacks at me and if i take a 1-0 lead i can feel the pressure being put on my team, forcing me to make mistakes, sometimes it doesnt happen straight after the goal but it happens in different parts ov the match until i take control again

Also you seem to be tweaking everything, now i dont tweak anything and tend to play it straight out the box

It doesnt really seem worth it for me

Whatever suits you! Even I'd like to play straight out of the box. For all the other games I have, I just play them. But if some tweaking would let me play the game exactly the way I want it to play, I'd do it. I just cannot play a football game with too much compromise, especially on the fundamental things. That's one reason why I haven't touched FIFA 10 since I got PES/WE.

Plus, I'm a football freak (all of us are!). I bought PS3 only for pro evo. Now I've bought WE because I heard that's better. I just want the best football gaming experience. Whatever it takes, I'll go for it.

I got it from play-asia.com for 36 pounds. I'm not sure if you get it in the UK. I think you can only import it.

how about online play?

also where can i get it in the UK?

I'm not an online player. I'm always an offline player. I play single player, co-op, multiplayer - all offline. I can get online just to give you guys a feedback. Cheers!

"Winning Eleven is beautifully paced. The game simulates football like no other football titles have (including PES5 and PES6)" and i agree with you..2 thing i missed in we2010 are the referee and training menu.but we2010 have released my worry about pes so long time.

Stats are exactly the same. What a top speed of 80 means in PES and WE are different. I played one match on online. No lag at all. Well done Konami.

And, the exhibition matches are evenly poised. When you play in cups or leagues, AI rips you apart, in professional difficulty.

^I believe they attack more than in pes right?
I think this may be fixed in pes with an update. In 09 they made something similar. They made the AI attack more.

Hey, bluechampion....just wanna check with you.....did the player response time such as passing, shooting and turning more better or reponssive in We2010 if compare with pes2010.

Actually i'm quite satisfy with the response time in pes2010..Cause it was nearly to the the real football match. But in terms of gaming, i expect we2010 will be 30% faster than pes 2010.

Thank you.

I feel the response time is better in WE 2010 but the game is not 30% faster as you say. I find WE slower than PES.

And guys, the opponent AI attacks really well. In exhibition games, they are very forgiving. I thought it's not too different from PES. Then I played the champions league as Chelsea. I've been beaten by Bordeaux 3-0 and beaten by Fiorentina 2-1. The AI just murders you, all this on professional difficulty.

This is quite different from my PES champions league experience. When I played as Chelsea in PES champions league, I won it the first time without having to reload once and without even losing a match. In WE champions league, I'm struggling to get out of the group stages itself.
